Since LN owns both Alpine and Northerly, I think they are steering bands that they are closely associated with like DMB and Phish to Northerly to promote the recent expansion of that venue. The question for me is if this is just a one year thing (this year) or is this the beginning of the end for Alpine altogether with Northerly being the preferred venue from here on in. I highly doubt Jimmy will play Meigs Field again... Opps I mean Northerly Island brought to you by some bank. Too many complaints last year. If he doesn't play Alpine, maybe he will go back to playing two shows in Tinley Park again.
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

Tinley is accessible by many interstates, they have been known to shove 60,000 for a single show (Farm Aid 97).

Also I am starting to wonder if perhaps JB might end up playing
at the Marcus at Summerfest. The 2 Saturday night slots have not
been announced yet. No concerts announced for Alpine this year,
and DMB and Zac Brown are playing Summerfest instead....
...????? inquiring minds want to know, ya know?

But a Miller Park show could always be done....They got that retractable roof a ma-jig, plenty of parking......

This may be the first time I ever agree w/ nighthawk, but a Miller Park show would be great. Prime spot for some good tailgating for sure. I just don't see him ever doing Summerfest though.
Alpine had a post on Facebook at the beginning of Feb. saying they were 'working on shows for the upcoming season'.. so we'll see. I think it will be interesting to see if Chicago gets announced in the coming days/weeks..if there is a June Chicago show, then most likely Alpine **should** be in August, or vice versa.. since there is usually a couple months between those shows..
Anyone remember the good ole days when Jimmy would play Alpine, than a week or two later would do 2 shows in Tinley?

My inside sources are saying a June 28th date this year at Alpine. While I wouldn't quite bank on it, my sources say about a 90% chance of it happening.

False. Did you check TM the day before the Alpine show last year and see all the available pavilion seats? I would say close to 1,000, maybe more. Not to mention all the lawn that went unsold. Alpine has been trending that way for the last few years with more and more unsold tickets each year. Marcus can put in 30k+ and would be the perfect size for a show. With all that being said, Jimmy will in no way be playing Summerfest or Marcus this year. If there is no Alpine show, look for two Chicago shows, if we're lucky.

That has only happened since the ticket prices got jacked up so high for the Pavilion. At his current prices, he'd struggle to sell out the pavilion at the Marcus, too. Wisconsin is a great many things, but it is not a state with a lot of disposable income at this time.

Frankly, I'm shocked he sells out any pavilions at these prices. Lemmings to the left...lemmings to the right. But guilty as charged.
