Vegas for Halloween?
I know the safe bet for the Vegas dates are the 17th and 24th but what about the idea of the 24th and 31st? Vegas+Buffett show+Halloween= Oh My Hell!
Re: Vegas for Halloween?
even a week ahead of Halloween is a mad house in Vegas.
Unless Phil Lesh is playing Brooklyn Bowl conflicting with JB again this year, I'm going to Buffett both weekends.

Re: Vegas for Halloween?
A few years back when Halloween was mid-week, the second Vegas show was on the weekend of all the big $ costume parties in Vegas. We went to one and it was amazing. Another night we sat at a pai gow table that was on the route from the lobby to the club in the MGM and got to see all the costumes walking by.

I almost pulled the trigger on cheap airfare for the 24th but it wasn't with Southwest so I am holding out for an announcement. Even with all the CA rumors I can't imagine Vegas not being on the 24th. Has to either be 17th & 24th or 24th & 31st.

Maybe he'll play at the pool party in the afternoon at the Flamingo and then at Irvine that night. But I wouldn't place bets on that.seminoledq wrote:I almost pulled the trigger on cheap airfare for the 24th but it wasn't with Southwest so I am holding out for an announcement. I meant to post it a few weeks ago, but unfortunately ended up in the hospital for 8 nights and never had a chance to post anything. The MGM has another artist booked for the Arena on 10/24 already. I can't say who and it won't be announced until March 2nd.....but I don't think many parrotheads will be interested.
I'm beginning to wonder if MGM might be trying to arrange a spring 2016 date for Jimmy instead of anything this fall.
A new 20,000 seat arena is being built between New York New York and Monte Carlo with MGM and AEG as partners. The development also includes extensive outdoor development called "The Park" leading from the strip to the arena. Here's a more detailed look at the project.

They could have an awesome pre-party in the "the park" before the show and use the concert as a way to highlight the new venue. If they can convince Jimmy to do a west coast date (or swing) in the spring of 2016, I could see it as something very possible.
That idea is pure speculation.....but I can assure that 10/24 at the MGM Arena will not be happening with Jimmy this year. Sorry.

Re: Vegas for Halloween?
Well you've always been right in past years but really do wish you were wrong here. Does this mean that there may only be one Vegas date this year instead of the usual 2? Either Oct. 17th or 31st?dean_siu wrote:seminoledq wrote:I almost pulled the trigger on cheap airfare for the 24th but it wasn't with Southwest so I am holding out for an announcement. Re: Vegas for Halloween?
Amo posted a week or so ago that Buffett was going to be at Irvine Meadows Oct. 24. If, like Dean said, MGM has someone else booked for that date, it looks like Amo is right again. Not that I ever doubted him.
BTW, welcome back Dean. Good to see everything's back to normal, or at least semi-normal.

Yes, Irvine is confirmed for Oct 24th. Some of the Cali Parrothead Club's also posted about it. I have not heard about Vegas yet.

Re: Vegas for Halloween?
This just won't do. The concert was the one thing that kept me off the tables and out of the sportsbook for a few hours. I'll take the 17th or 31st but not Spring 2016.

Re: Vegas for Halloween?
If anyone had booked flights or hotels for 10/24, a concert was officially announced today for that date at the MGM. Instead of Jimmy though, you'll have the chance to see Madonna.

Re: Vegas for Halloween?
I think we can all agree by the way the schedule has come together that there may only be one Vegas date this year and my two cents say it would be the 17th. JB only played one date in 2009 and 2010 so it's not like it hasn't been done before. I can't see him skipping Vegas all together and waiting until the spring of 2016.

I agree. Who wants to see an aging singer, well past their prime, that hasn't had a hit song in decades?Brewark wrote:Whoever that is.dean_siu wrote:If anyone had booked flights or hotels for 10/24, a concert was officially announced today for that date at the MGM. Re: Vegas for Halloween?
Given that the 24th is out, what's more likely?
Show on the 17th?
Show on the 31st?
No Vegas show in 2015?

Re: Vegas for Halloween?
Since there are California shows on 10/15 and 10/22 (Santa Barbara and the Hollywood Bowl, but I forget which one is on which date) I think if there's a Vegas show 10/17 is the likely date.

That would be logical. Or maybe Jimmy will still play at the MGM on the 24th and open for Madonna...LIPH wrote:Since there are California shows on 10/15 and 10/22 (Santa Barbara and the Hollywood Bowl, but I forget which one is on which date) I think if there's a Vegas show 10/17 is the likely date.
