How Many More JB Concerts Will You Attend?

Post by Bfan53again » May 13, 2011 6:37 am

At age 58 I must admit that I don't look forward to attending JB concerts as much as I used to. I kind of felt this last year and realize that the same thought is stronger this year.

For me, it's more sharing pre-concert time with friends now than the music. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy JB's shows, but I can't argue the point that if you've seen one, well, you've pretty much seen it all.....

How do you feel?

I started kinda late in life, so the concerts are still special to me. That and the people I only get to see at Buffett concerts.

My 8th year. I'm going to go to as many as I can before JB "retires."

Too many friends that I only see during concert season. I'll go as long as I can, as much as I can.

And when he does retire, I'll just have to find ways to see those friends somewhere else.
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.

I don't spend much time thinking that way about anything. I go. Then, one day, I won't.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Seen him twice so far this year, maybe 2 more times. Vegas & Alpine, we will go as long as he is out there. Love the parties, love the shows....

This is a big "Buffett" year for us (3 shows). I'm thinking we will probably try to go to at least 1 a year until he retires. Love the tailgates and hanging out with new and old friends. Good times!

in the spirit of the original question: probably not ever going to touch the 4-5/ year range again. Last year was a shutout. On the other hand, as most folks have said, the pre-tailgate and pre-concert festivities are as much fun as ever, and situation permitting there are still a couple of the regular stops on the tour I'd like to make it back for

It's fun, so I go. When it stops being fun, I'll stop going.
I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.

She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

Same here, this year will be shows number two and three.
Hope to see him a couple of times more before he 'retires', if he'll ever do this.
I plan to attend at least one show a year in the USA, prolly in a different place every year. Like this I get to see a little bit of your HUGE continent I hope.
Shows in Europe are a must go for me, whereever they may be. (London would be cool, haven't been there for ages...)
Plus a Florida vacation in November maybe [smilie=asa.gif]

Jimmy in Key West, MOTM 2011. Unforgettable! And let's not talk about MOTM 2015

I have 2, possibly 3, more shows to see this year! I'll go to as many as we can afford to go to, because I get to see so many friends and hear such great music, in & outside the venue!

I try to get to one show, maybe two, every year. I've seen some interesting parts of the U.S. that I never would have seen without JB and the PHs.
I want to go to Paris, so he'd better not retire before I do!

Tampa was my 25th show.

With my Dad not feeling as well as he used to and my wife a Buffett hater (her only flaw), I see him way less than I used to. I'd still love to take in 1-2 a year if I could.

We'll keep going as long as he keeps playing! [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] I look forward to at least one show a year (usually Vegas).

Intensified crowd aversion is my biggest obstacle.

Panic attacks s***.
Panic attacks at Buffett concerts are just wrong, and s*** worse.
Fear of panic attacks at Buffett concerts s*** the most, and make me not want to go.
And unless you've ever experienced a panic attack, this sounds utterly ridiculous.

(s*** rhymes with duck)

That's why I'm so grateful for all of the opportunities to see the Coral Reefer shows about town.
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave
