We had joy, we had fun ... we had seasons in the sun.

But new NING policies might possibly spell the end of Critterville Cove.

So I'll ask here, a request to anyone who has ever posted in this thread and who may have forgotten that
they are a member of the Critterville Cove community .......

...... help me save Critterville Cove. Before I expend energy and perhaps a few dollars, I need to know if
it will be worth the effort. We have a core group of lunatics that enjoy things like the Tiki Bar Chat Room.

I have archived a lot of fun music and videos in one easy to find location over in our CONCERT VAULTS.

Each member has their own page that they have carefully designed and personalized into their own ISLAND PERSONA.
We have bartenders, dive shops, tattoo shops, surf shops, restaurants, bars, night clubs.
A golf course and more.

I don't want it to go away. If you haven't visited in a while ......... read this thread again and then
stop by and update your pages.

I'd like to help, SP, but can you be a little more specific? Just what does NING need/want/expect of us to keep it alive?
Is it a case of needing a certain number of page views? Not enough on-going activity? What?

Looks like Ning is going 100% paid. SP, which level would you need for the Cove to continue as is??

I'm probably going to pay to have the NING Plus features, which will run $199.95/year.
I've already been paying $4.95/month to link the domain to the NING platform,
so one perspective is that this will just cost me an additional $140/year.

NING Plus will allow me to run my own ads, e.g. google ads, but that's not
very feasible with the traffic we get now. Plus I hate having those ads cluttering
up the site. Now I can get rid of them.

If I sell a few t-shirts, etc., then I can justify the expense on my own.
I could also put up a PayPal donation button too.

More important to me would be for the membership to remain active and drive the site.
I have too much creative fun with it, and I have ideas I want to play with (surfpirateradio.com anyone?).

A1A Key West t-shirt anyone? They're in the Surf Shop. 8)

Is there a way to designate contributing members like on some forums? I'm sure the core would spare $10 each to keep the site going.
Now I know this Joe down in Mexico.
He went there to work on his tan.
For years he's been plugged into blenders and songs.
They call him the Twelve Volt Man

Ditto that from me. I'm afraid the only time I'm on the computer is a little weekend time, and evenings... so that leaves mostly my emails, FB, and BN. :)

Once upon a time,
this thread helped launch a sister silly website,
that allowed lots of YOU to participate,
in the tropical island world
of Critterville Cove.

We miss all of you original Covites. Come back and say "hello", the TIKI BAR is open.
