Well now that I've seen it.

It's the eyepatch.

It normally swaps eyes as he looks left or right, that is it stays to the front of the image. This time he fixed the image to keep it on the correct side as he turned!!

In this strip it stays on his right hand side...

Rabbitz, I do believe you have it.... as recently as in the "Casual Friday" strip it switches from one eye to the other as he turns to look at the two monks.

And in the two strips from the 18th and the 19th as well — when looking to the (viewer's) left the eyepatch is over the left eye, and when he is looking to the right it is now over the right eye.

Of course, you realize how much work you've made for yourself, SP. You now have 500-some strips to go through and move the eyepatch in order to follow this now-canonical disclosure that the patch belongs over the right eye.

OH ..... THANK ..... GOD ..... FINALLY .....

In every strip for 6 years I have just lazily
horizontally flipped the surfpirate character's image
whenever he turns to look left or right,
thus his eyepatch has flipped back and forth
from one eye to the other
depending upon which way he is facing.

But not today.

I've done the same thing with the CaptainP character.
His eyepatch and hook hand switch if he faces the opposite way.

Whew.
