I guess we will see you in Tampa (and Raleigh????) We are going to skip JB this year - skeered of the big haired locals with blue eye shadow that were going to throw us off the balcony for dancing and STANDING during the songs. Ugly I know as we say down south - but the people behind us were not nice. Chip and CM can give you the low done from my play by play texts.

He did not do "Imagine" in the encore. There is a lyric in Lover Of Mine that sounds close to it (in italics below):

Lover of Mine
by Gaylord Holomalia & Malani Bilyeu

Lover of mine, over the sea
Deep blue ocean, waves in motion
Where have you gone?
I look to the sea
Someday, you'll come home to me.

Lover of mine, over the sea
Welcome summer, sunny weather
Where have you gone?
I look to the sea
Someday, you'll come home to me.

(Bridge*)
People say I'm the dreamer
But I'm not the only one
Someday, you will join us
And the world will be as one.

Yeah, right! . . . .

Hmmm . . let's review what we know about Marcus . . .

He has no apparent "job" . .
He travels frequently to Dutch Harbor, where he reportedly has big boats . .
Dutch Harbor is very close to both Russian and Asian ports . .
After he returns from Dutch Harbor, he makes unannounced and unexplained trips all around the "lower 48" . .
I've met up with him a couple of times in Seattle, when we've made exchanges in the alley behind his "office" . . .

OMG maybe Jimmy is on to something! :o :o :o

Actually I think the bolded and blue lyrics above ARE from Imagine. And, yes they sure did sound to me, at least, very similar to the original.

Check this out and scroll on down to Lover of Mine (I think it's safe to click on)...

http://www.geocities.com/~olelo/iz-them ... music.html

The lyrics are identical to what you have here, SunLover, but in the fine print below the lyrics on that page it says...

Mahalo to haku mele (composer), Gaylord Holomalia, who credits the bridge lyrics to John Lennon, from the song, Imagine, and shared with us that these bridge lyrics were not sung on its original recording on the CD, In Dis Life. "IZ just liked adding them to the live shows."

I don't think I have that particular IZ CD...

Yes, that was very cool, but not on the original CD!

Here's what I transcribed for what Jimmy actually sang, and where the extras all came from...

Lover of mine, over the sea
Deep blue ocean, waves in motion
Where have you gone?
I look to the sea
Someday, you’ll come home to me.

Lover of mine, over the sea
Welcome summer, sunny weather
Where have you gone?

Going where the sun keeps shining

Going where the weather suits my clothes

Backing off of a North East wind
Sailing on a summer breeze
Skipping over the ocean like a stone

Welcome summer, sunny weather
Where have you gone?
I look to the sea
Someday you’ll come home to me.

Couldn't make the Friday re-broadcast, but just finished the Sunday night replay -while reading the setlist comments here, so I felt like I was with y'all. Great job, setlisters - esp. GBM!

Great job on getting thru the show, Jimmy! What a pro.

Thanx Jimmy & RM for broadcasting the replay!

Here's my first try at the Hawaii Fruitcakes lyrics.

Most of the stuff mentioned (in square [] brackets) I could not figure out... Sorry! Any help is appreciated!

Fruitcakes
Hawaiian Island Style (2009)

Fruitcakes in the kitchen
Fruitcakes on the street
Struttin' naked down the Halai Highway [Halai??]
In the middle of the week

Half baked surfers down at Great Falls
Half baked onions on my bus
There's a little bit of fruitcake here in everyone of us

Paradise - Lost and found
Paradise - take a look around

Parrotheads all perched in here on Maui
On Mardi Gras Day
It's so good to be back down Island
On the shores of Kahului Bay

Hey, the surfers down at Tausend Beach [Tausend??]
Are dancing on the sea
While up there on the Mountain
There's pakalolo for you and me [BTW, pakalolo = hawaiian weed - I just learned that tonight 8) ]

Fruitcakes here from Hana
Paie and Hankei [paie and hankei ???]
Even fruitcakes in from Molokai
And Rocky Neua Bay [Rocky Neua Bay ???]

Half baked Sailors from Kuai
Half baked fisherman on my bus
There's a little bit of fruitcakes left in everyone of us

Spoken: Let's throw a little science in, huh?

Now up on Haleakala [Jimmy pronounced it Haleakaka]
They got telescopes galore
A window to the universe
We'd all love to explore

You can watch the stars
But up on Mars
The pictures are not clear
They think they've discovered water
I hope they've discovered beer!

Fruitcakes in the galaxy
Fruitcakes here on Earth
Struttin' naked towards eternity
We've been that way since birth

Half baked humpbacks in the channel
Putting on quite a show
Talking about some big-ass fruitcakes
Look out now, there she blows!

Spoken: Uh oh. Religion. Get ready!

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa

Where's the church, who took the steeple
Religion's in the hands of some crazy ass people
Television preachers with bad hair and dimples
The God's honest truth is it ain't that simple

It's the Buddhist in you, it's the pagan in me
It's the Muslim in her, she's Catholic ain't she?
It's that born again look, it's the wasp and the Jew
Tell me please, Rastaman, I ain't got a clue

Spoken: Relationships - you won't see this sh*t on the Oprah show, I'll tell ya that. Only here.

She said, ya got to do your fair share
You've got to lend a hand
I bust my ass all day in spin class
While you're home mastering Rockband

Still, the whirring of the blenders
May get me a little hug
That's the difference between lightening
And a harmless lightening bug

Spoken: And then there's the future, Oh My God!

Nine years past the millenium
The future will be here soon
We should be living like the Jetsons
But we're being f*cked by oil tycoons

So I put on all my brother IZ tapes
And practice what I preach
Take a walk up on the windform
Or down on baby beach

Stay in touch with my insanity
There really is no other way
It's a jungle out there kiddies
So, go Barack, go today!

Oh yeah!

Fruitcakes here from the mainland
Some here from Bora Bora too
It's a Mardi Gras on Maui
It's a rock and roll hoo-doo

So I put on my Bob Marley tape
And practice what I preach
Get y'all lost in the reggae
As I walk along the beach
Hey Snake, we need more wine!

Spoken: Relationships - you won't see this sh*t on the Oprah show, I'll tell ya that. Only here.

She said, ya got to do your fair share
You've got to lend a hand
I bust my ass all day in spin class
While you're home mastering Rockband

Still, the whirring of the blenders
May get me a little hug
That's the difference between lightening
And a harmless lightening bug

Spoken: And then there's the future, Oh My God!

Nine years past the millenium
The future will be here soon
We should be living like the Jetsons
But we're being f*cked by oil tycoons

So I put on all my brother IZ tapes
And practice what I preach
Take a walk up on the windform
Or down on baby beach

Stay in touch with my insanity
There really is no other way
It's a jungle out there kiddies
So, go Barack, go today!

Oh yeah!

Fruitcakes here from the mainland
Some here from Bora Bora too
It's a Mardi Gras on Maui
It's a rock and roll hoo-doo

So I put on my Bob Marley tape
And practice what I preach
Get y'all lost in the reggae
As I walk along the beach
Here are a few minor changes as I recall:

Should be: Half baked surfers down at Breakwall (that is a surf spot in Lahaina)

And I think he said Struttin naked down the Hana Highway...

He mentions Fruitcakes from Hana, Paia and ?

Then I believe Rocky Neua is really Honolua Bay.

Of course this could an experience of too much tequilla for me... or not quite enough.

Hope this helped in some small way.
