That is amazing to have been into Jimmy that long. CNF, the original parrothead.
Saw him sing that in KW at the high school back in early '75 right after A1A came out, solo.
I know what you mean, CNF. I saw him in 1971, right before WAR hit the big time with green album. Imagine seeing Jimmy, Jerry Jeff and Jimmy ... in small bars ... with just them and their guitars. That's how I'll always remember Jimmy. I love the carnival, but I hope to see him in an acoustic show one more time.

Well, now, I'm a puddle. SC is my favorite.
Prine and Goodman both played at my college when I was a student in the early 70s, but Jimmy didn't so he wasn't on my radar for a long time.......then again, I got to see Goodman at least 6 times which was amazing!

Oh yeah, the good old days! Several small bars in KW back in the early 70's.

Last night Arlo told his story of the first time he met Steve Goodman in Chicago back in the 60s... then sang his version of "City of New Orleans." Another misty eyed moment!

Just a short story.
Many moons ago, maybe 199x I played a CD to a friend here in Switzerland.
Downloaded from Bearshare, a flie sharing thing.
It was impossible to get American records here then.
The CD was Jimmy Buffet, all I had then.
My friend went NUTS when she heard that CD.

Will have to post that one day somewhere here on BN if anybody is interested...?
She lived in Florida late 70's, ran a campground there, and told me about who Jimmy Buffett was. He played in a beach bar across the street, a young good looking guy with a moustache...
That's how I got hooked to his music!
