Could this be an omen - or just a couple of lively concerts?
Jimmy Buffett will play the first concerts ever at Citizens Bank Park. He's booked for Aug. 25 and 27, and tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday through New Era Tickets, the new ticketing subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor.
Why the omen? Buffett played a well-attended two-night engagement at Boston's Fenway Park last September. A month later, the Red Sox won the World Series, their first in 86 years.
Some people claim Buffett wins game

I know what you're talking about. The other day, a friend and I were discussing our (Philly's) bad luck with professional sports and our lack of championships. I figured that it took the Phillies 97 years to win their first world series so the next time they win I'll be 103!Margaritas_And_Senoritas wrote:If it's an OMEN.. then it would be a true act of God.. The Phillies winning the World Series?!?!?.. I'm a fan, but common!
I always find it amusing that Cubs and (prior to last year) complain about not winning the series in x number of years. How would they like to root for a team that has only won it once in 122 years, and live in a city that has witness 86 seasons of professional sports (including baskettball, hockey, football and baseball) w/o winning a championship.
I think we NEED (and deserve) some of the good vibes Buffett gave to the Sox last year. Maybe by some mircle it will rub off on at least one of our teams!
