Key West tour

Post by murPH »

Anyone ever do the "Trails of Margaritaville" tour in Key West? I have been reading about it online and it seems quite interesting. Only being in Key West once before, we are scheduled for a cruise stop there at the end of the month and will probably do this. But any comments or helpful info would be greatly appreciated!!

It is well worth the time. About a 2 hour slow paced walking tour

We took it last year. We were the ONLY couple on a Sunday afternoon. The others were a no show. It starts at Capt Tony's and ends up at Margaritaville.
Our guide, who is also the magician at Schooner's wharf, was great! Well worth it.

My mom and I did it last summer. It was a lot of fun. Very entertaining. :) A friend of mine was there this past week and did it, before Dennis chased them away, and said there were some people in their group who were not big Buffett fans and had not heard of some of the songs - Nautical Wheelers. She said it was funny watching them learn about the songs and some of the stories associated with them.

Just to let you know... make sure you take cash. The tour does not accept cards, and you want to have some extra $$ for the various bar stops. Oh, and take your camera. :)

being that you're on a cruise and time is limited you should take the tour I guess. If you were there for longer you could just do what I did and take it yourself without the rush and save the $$$ for something like....um....BEER!

some island off the coast of South Florida's mainland... apparently they have some interesting rituals such as people dressing up in dragon costumes, parading down the street with chickens and worshiping a drink concocted of tequila and lime juice :o

Yeah... I hear they stay together in what they call "phlocks"....
Must be some kinda power in numbers mentality... but I think it simply boils down to the fact it's cheaper for everyone to pitch in on liquor - their livers are quite famous ya know :pirate:
