'Fess up... What have you...

Post by krusin1 »

Pretty sure it's not just me, so 'fess up.

What have you done... mainly because you read/heard/saw that Jimmy did it?

Hmmm.... may end up with quite a list here...

1. Going to Key West. (Next Weekend! Hurricanes stay away!)
2. Surfed.
3. Read "Don't Stop the Carnival."

2. Started reading "Don't Stop the Carnival."

Have fun in Key West! :D

Drank the 1st of many Coronas!

Heck, Jimmy himself handed it to me... how could I not?

I guess I'm just young and impressionable

I started playing guitar
started reading again
started fishing again
bought a boat
visited a few bars/places that Jimmy has mentioned

all that is since becoming a parrothead so I'm guessing that the short bald guy had some sort of influence on me

I have not taken up anything really that "Jimmy does"

Like, I have been to Key West - but that is because MOTM is there - probably would not have gone otherwise.

And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.

Accomplished:
1) Moved to Florida.
2) Gone to Keywest many times.
3) Read Treasure Island, following the Equator, and will soon start "Don't stop the carnival.
4) Tried fishing but am not into it like Jimmy is.
5) Fornicated on a beach or two.
6) Learned how to make a damn good Margarita and the perfect Cheeseburger.
7) Oh, and rode out a Category 4 Hurricane. (I'm really not sure if Jimmy has actually done this but he writes a very vivid description in T.F.M. and I know he bases his fiction on his life experiences.)

On my list:
1) Try surfing.
2) Take flying lessons.
3) Visita Costa Rica and the many Carribean islands.
4) Learn to navigate using a sexton.
5) Learn to sail.

Anything on your to-do/to-see list that is especially significant or awesome?

Great story, Tiki!

Great thread, O Krusin1!

Well, we went to Key West because of Hemingway, altho it got my hubby into Jimmy Buffett on his First Look Around.

1) We definitely had a Blue Heaven Rendezvous because of Jimmy.

2) We looked for and found the Last Mango in Paris writing in the men's room at Captain Tony's.

3) I keep following my dreams, because Jimmy does, as in "Someday I Will."
