Hurricane benefit show?

Post by BoozeInTheBlender »

Just wondering if Jimmy has considered doing a benefit show to help the victims of hurricane Katrina? It would only seem logical since he has such strong ties and family in the area.

Maybe this is a question better asked after the storm has run out of steam and we know just how bad the damage is. The Florida Hurricane Benefit show last year was at the end of November. Weren't the 4 storms that hit Florida in September? Give him time, he's still on the road doing his regularly scheduled tour dates.

I was lucky enough to go to the Florida Hurricane Benefit show last year. Great time... looking at damage and since Jimmy is from the Gulf Coast I fully expect him to repeat another benefit show this Fall.

But it can't be in Orlando. I don't need lightning striking twice. (and yes, this is humour, for those of you who know the story) :D

Damn, I got 3rd row from the ticketmaster auction and didn't pay anything close to $3000.

A little off topic, but I heard Aaron Neville on one of the news shows talk about getting his family out of New Orleans and he spoke of doing a benefit himself. He mentioned doing the NOAAHH Benefits he organized with Allen Toussaint in the past.

This article shows that Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers raised more than $100,000.
