Opening Songs

Post by Zanzibar »

What song (s) do you think would be good for Jimmy to play to open up each concert on the 2006 Tour? :D

I always thought Southern Cross and Boat Drinks would be a good way to start up the concert 8)
I Wanna go back down and get high by the sea there...

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I think "Fins" would be a great song to start with, why not mix it up and play it first, it would get everybody up on their feet in a hurry.

I have a live version of him doing "Come on In" and he does it so well. That's a good choice!

Oh so many things I can’t remember
And way too many things I can’t forget
What time does church begin? Tell the priest I’m checking in
I want to cleanse my soul so I can do it again and again and again and again

I think "I Love the Now" would be a good opener. Also, as someone else said the other day, Mac starting 5:00 Somewhere and when it gets to "What would Jimmy Buffett do," JB and the band come out from backstage.

That'd be really good too. I hadn't thought about it.

I don't think I'd like this for every show, but for one show, it'd be a great surprise!! :D :D

i must say, i never was a fan of piece of work...especially as the opener. I think boat drinks would be a great opener, but my vote has to be for Migration
Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way

I loved Great Heart as an opener, but that's been done too recently.

Also loved Only Time Will Tell.

Gotta be a song that makes people *move*! :D

I've always thought this, too... people would get so psyched if JB walked out on stage and heard the "Jaws" theme starting up and the big shark Bruce coming out.
