Hope none of you took Dewon Brazelton as a sleeper on your fantasy teams...
His key stats after 2 starts: 6 innings pitched, 17 Hits, 17 Runs, 4 HRs allowed ERA: 24.16
These numbers came in starts vs. Colorado and Florida
Can you say "outright release"??

Last night we went to the home opener for a minor league team from the Indians, and Len Barker was there signing pictures, baseballs, etc. That was pretty cool. (Pitched a perfect game for the Indians May 15 1981) I can remember listening to the game on the radio at a pizza shop that my friend and I used to go to alot. The owner had the game on the radio and we all listened to it together.
I am no longer fighting my inner demons. We are on the same side now.

Giants' win worth the wait
Alou hits 300th homer as Morris tames Astros

Moises Alou hit his 300th career home run and Matt Morris limited the Astros to four hits in 7 2/3 innings Thursday afternoon to lead the Giants to a 5-3 win in the first game of a day-night doubleheader at AT&T Park.
Because of rainouts Tuesday and Wednesday night, the Giants and Astros waited two days to play the opener of their series. Alou, though, wasted little time reaching his milestone. On the first pitch he got from Brandon Backe, Alou crushed one to the seats in left in the second inning, his third homer of the season.
Alou became the 112th man to reach the 300-HR plateau.
"When you play this game in the minor leagues, you never think you're going to hit 300 homers in the big leagues, so it's very special," said Alou, who broke into the big leagues with Pittsburgh in 1990 and played his first full season with Montreal in 1992. "I know there are guys who've hit 400, 500, 600, 700, but to me, that's a nice number. ...
"In order to do that, you have to stay around the game for a long time and I've been able to do that. That's one thing I'm probably most proud of hitting 300 home runs is being around the league for 15 years."
His father, Giants manager Felipe Alou, had 206 homers in his career.
"It's not 800 or 700," Felipe Alou said, "but 300 for the Alous is big."

Yep. You must be a lot of games over .500 against weak teams and then if you could be close to breaking even against playoff contenders (of course being way over .500 for that too would be better), that is good.tequilatom wrote:but those are the teams you are suppose to beat if you want to contend for the playoffs!!......they may be weak teams ...but a wins a win!!CaptainP wrote:Remember...we ran up our wins against Pittsburgh and Arizona, but they did it against Washington and Florida.CheeseHead in Paradise! wrote:The Mets are arguably be the hottest team in baseball right now. If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.
