They certainly don't celibrate it much there. It's more of a regional celebration (but national holiday) in Puebla where the battle took place.
If memory serves, the Cinco de Mayo of today, here in the States, is a product of the American booze producers and sellers.

Now if we REALLY want to celebrate a Mexican Holiday we need to have a Decimosexto de Septiembre celibration! :pirate: :pirate: 8)
