Coastal Southeast Georgia...visit Cumberland Island...Okefeenokee Swamp...
Savannah...St. Marys...it's an old pirate town...
the history just 1/2 mile from where we live is...simply amazing...Revolutionary War era..most think of the Civil War, there is some but more Revolutionary War than Civil War...
wait! I live there....but I did visit for a year before I moved here...

I would love to go back to Savannah, fantastic city, one particular restaurant had tunnels that lead to the docks, apparently the story went something like this "after passing out from drinking grog people were carried through the tunnels onto the ships, when they woke the following day they would find themselves to be crew members as the ships were already out to sea"
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do So throw off the bowlines Sail away from the safe harbor Catch the trade winds in your sails Explore Dream Discover

When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

SC!!
I would recommend driving from Charleston up to Myrtle Beach. You could even start in Savannah. You won't go wrong either way.
