Survivor: Cook Islands
Here's a little news about the new "Survivor" that I found...........
Jeff Probst popped in on The Early Show Wednesday morning, confirming the reports that the 20 castaways for Survivor: Cook Islands will be grouped by race, with competitors divided into four tribes consisting of whites, blacks, Asians and Hispanics.
Apparently, "separate but equal" holds only the warmest of connotations for Mark Burnett.
Like a good host, Probst had nothing but praise for the producers' controversial brainchild, calling the exercise in segregation a valuable social experiment, rather than a stunt to dig up some controversy--and raise ratings

I heard this and think it's very idiotic. This will only further the cause of the extremists in every race.Zuke wrote:Here's a little news about the new "Survivor" that I found...........

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

It's just another gimmick.....sort of like last season when they started out men vs. women....for ONE episode.....big deal. I think it's just another way to start the buzz and get people talking......and watching.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Way ahead of you with this show.chippewa wrote:Is anybody still watching this? Sounds like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas. Can someone say "jump the shark"?

Where's all the Survivor fans at? I've seen every espisode since about Season 6, and never before has the contestants been such a mix of cultures. Usually its 14 white people, 2 black people, one asian, and one latino. Now that doesn't seem too fair, does it?
Splitting up the group into races shouldn't be any more offensive these days as doing it by gender or age. But is it PC for white people to root for their own race?

We used to laugh at Grandpa when he'd head off and go fishing. But we wouldn't
be laughing that evening when he'd come back with some whore he picked up in
town.

Did anyone hear that Rush Limbaugh said that the black tribe will lose because they can't swim as well?
