Best Current Tour Stops
Alright I know best parking lot parties and such has been discussed many of times and sometimes results hurt feelings because ones hometown may not make it but this is important. Well, at least to me. Since Jimmy has not yet announced a Southern California stop yet for this summer and I need to get my fix I was looking at making a road trip.
Out of the stops that have been announced so far where's the best party going to be and being summer an outdoor venue is always a plus.
Thanks!

Real close to Dulles Airport, too. Another traffic nightmare.FunkHouse9 wrote:If you're looking to spend some time on the road, Jimmy's stop in Bristow, VA right outside of DC is a great venue to get stuck in traffic. You'll see plenty of the roads out here.
(Actually, Reagan National is far worse.)
In all seriousness, Nissan Pavilion is a great place for a Buffett concert, except for the traffic. "Get there early; stay late. Take the next day off."

Alpine Valley is great. The "rentacops" are cool. They have never bothered me. We offer them water or a soda. We have given them food. I fire up the grill after the show. It takes aleast an hour to get moving after the show anyway. why get stuck in traffic. I'm sure that there are alot of places that claim to be "the best" it's okay as long as you are easy going. Don't be an ass. every thing will go smoothly.

Alpine is a great venue to people watch but they tend to over sell their capacity for people. The sound system leaves much to be desired. But the thing to really watch for is the local and state police, your sitting ducks or should I say parrots. If you think ticket prices are high for the concert, I can only imagine what Wisconsin ticket prices are for DUI. We tend to overnight it at the resort for that reason, plus it’s a great time to hang with other parrot heads . I know that there are others getting a bus for the trek, that’s a great idea

After hearing for years how great a venue Alpine was, I finally went up last year and was rather disappointed. Too big, too far from hotels/restaurants, too disorganized.Down around Biloxi wrote:Alpine is a great venue to people watch but they tend to over sell their capacity for people. is Cincy really that good? It is the only big one that I have missed. Not a fan of Alpine; I agree the hotels are too far away and it really is disorganized.BigR-KyParrothead wrote:Everybody has a favorite. Mine is where it all began...CINCY!
I always say New England is the best because of the sailing and islands and parties days before the shows and after as Jimmy usually ends that leg of the tour here. He has major roots out here in Nantucket and the Vineyard. It is more of an overall experience and lifestyle we live year round. But that's just me. Oh, and Jimmy regards it as the best and, no, he doesn't say it everywhere he plays.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

If you are used to seeing Jimmy in SoCal, you will be pleasantly surprised that any venue you pick will be a blast. Not a knock on SoCal because they party there, but the festivities are much more intense at venues like Alpine. Having been at many, many venues over many years I would always pick Alpine over anywhere else. Chicago is more like a SoCal concert, so if you are coming this way . . . pick Alpine, you'll be in Wisconsin where "nobody cares" what you do!!!

Yes, it really is that good. Great tailgating, great venue, great view, and you'll never heard a contingency of Parrotheads louder than when he busts out that mechanical flying shark for "Fins" (especially if Fingers shows up and blows the harp semi-unexpectedly, like last year).drunkpirate66 wrote:is Cincy really that good? It is currently my favorite venue, and I plan to be back this year.
Great crowd, good venue, excellent tailgate environment
