Did you read my earlier post about being a sucker for last songs that try to be powerful and full of meaning? He kind of pattern out of it for a while.
Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.
I accept the new found man, and I set the twilight reeling.

With the exception of Barracuda, Baby's Gone Shopping, or Homemade Music, I could easily pick any of them.
I chose Great Heart-it's a great song, and he's opened several concerts with it, and, needless to say, it got the crowd more than pumped.

Bring Back the Magic definately deserves honorable mention. It was the song I listened to post 9-11, and it sort of semi-assured me that although things would never be the same, life will go on.

Prince of Tides and That's What Living Is To Me are gems also. (So is Smart Woman). Gee, what a great album.

That's What Living Is To Me is one of my favorite songs...if he ever played it live, I would die on the spot. Just a beach band arrangement. That's all it needs...simple, yet sweet. 8)

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

The year this album was released was the year I went to my first Buffett concert. I've been looking for a Smart Woman (In A Real Short Skirt) ever since.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

I used the chorus from 'Bring Back the Magic' in my speech when I retired from the PD....I felt..and still feel....that the police department was heading in a dangerous direction and that the focus of 'following your heart' and doing the right thing was being over-shadowed by other things......it's such a powerful song with an amazing message....

Nothing can tear you apart
If you keep livin' straight from the heart
Though you know that you're gonna to hurt some
The magic will come
If you keep livin' straight from the heart
You will know when to stop and to start
Once you see that no one really wins
Then the magic begins

That's What Living Is To Me is my favorite because of the lyrics and Jimmy talking at the beginning of the song and the congas and beat, guitar and saxophone.

When Jimmy did this song on the Whoopi Goldberg show it left a lasting impression on me when he did it totally solo acoustic and it is even better on the studio recording. It's a great tribute to one of his lyrical heroes.

That's What Living Is To Me. I have always found it ironic that one of my least favorite albums produced one of my all time favorite songs. This song, above all others shows that Jimmy can sound melodic when he wants to. Beautiful song.

Great Heart

Would be the opening song on my dream set list.

Prince of Tides...

At the end he sings a portion of "save the last dance for me"....My dad used to sing this to me all the time when I was growing up....
There's this one particular harbor.....
