When I was in Hawai'i, I had bought two of his CD's: "Alone in IZ World" and "Facing Future." It is two pretty good albums if you want to start getting into Hawaiian music.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

IZ is incredible. What a loss when he passed.... :(

A great loss. I don't think there is anyone who can replace his voice.

IZ is who I listen to when I really need to find a peaceful place. Love his music ... and his great, sweet heart.
Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.

Ka 'Ano'i is a good one, and I think it was his first.

Also, I think it was in 2005 when Jimmy used to play the first 3 or 4 songs straight through from that album during the intermission.

I have Alone in Iz World too and it seems more of like a greatest hits album.

My dentist has 2 daughters that have worked for him. One has lived in Hawaii for over 5 years and the other just moved there. They would always play music over the office PA. One day while sitting in the chair getting my teeth cleaned IZ came on. I said to her "nice choice, IZ is great." She was so surprised that I knew who he was.

At the risk of appearing to hijack this thread...

I was listening to RM a while back when JD played a song from IZ and then said something to the effect of "When I make it out to Hawaii, I hope to catch him in concert".

Not enough research into the music perhaps?
