It will be entertaining to see how many Habs make it. I found myself voting for Carey Price and I live in Chicago....granted I voted for Toews and Kane also

nah, I belong to another forum Habsinsideout.com and we've all been stuffing the voting boxes repeatedly with Habs players.....it's only righ they have a couple of Habs make it, it is in Montreal on their Centennial season
Here's one of today's threads..."As of 7:05 am ET today, the six Canadiens on the ballot for January's All-Star Game in Montreal are atop their categories by a healthy margin, Habs fans clearly keen on seeing six – can you imagine that? – of their favourites on the Eastern Conference starting lineup.
(Geez, their numbers are so high that you'd swear they were a blogger who's hired a chimp to hit the Refresh key a thousand times a day to spike the hits to their site.)
We've never been the biggest fan of the popularity contest that is the All-Star Game, but it is what it is. If the NHL is going to encourage fans to stuff the ballot box, why not do it for the team that will host the event?
Go here to vote often, as you've already been doing, and good luck to Koivu, Kovalev, Tanguay, Markov, Komisarek and Price. And to Roman Hamrlik, who's garnering decent support as a write-in candidate."

I'd love to see the All-Time Great Team of Habs that are playing for the Cosmic All-Stars....
Rocket Richard
Howie Morenz
Jaques Plante
Boom Boom Geoffrion (sp)
just to name a few.....
Just a quick question about the centennial season, what league were the Habs in before the NHL?
Happy Centenial Le Habs, what a great organization....

Tampa Bay Lightning fire Melrose as coach
TAMPA, Fla. (AP)—Barry Melrose’s return to the NHL as coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning lasted 16 games. Now the job belongs to assistant Rick Tocchet.
Melrose was fired Friday less than five months after he left the television booth to coach a team that finished with the league’s worst record last season.

You aren't old when your hair turns grey,
You aren't old when it falls away,
But if your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill,
Then you know that you're over the hill
Thornton? Don't make me laugh. One of the biggest flops for a #1 pick. A big pussy who disappears in the playoffs.
I'd say he put players under 30 to spark this kind of conversation. But yeah, that's almost impossible to predict what those guys are going to do in 10 years.
As for your list, I'd agree with most but would need to see #'s on some of the guys. Fedorov is one I would definitely add. I saw some stat last year during the Caps playoff series that Sergei averages something like a point and half a game during playoff. Maybe it was just a point; still, that's pretty good. That, and his regular season stats I think warrant entry.
I would think they would make a bigger deal out of the ceremony. I mean, it just happened and there did not seem to be much fanfare. I think they should do it at the start of the season or maybe during the all star break. It just seems that it got lost in the shuffle.

Whenever I hear the words "Rick Tocchet" and "coach", it makes me laugh. I feel like I'm going to see a highlight any day now of Rick jumping out from behind the bench, getting onto the ice, and pummeling some player. What I mainly remember from Tocchet's playing days were lots of fights when he was with the Flyers and his very brief stay with the Capitals.
