I've listened to it twice and I`m not sure that I agree with the Rolling Stone review. I`m hoping that it will grow on me, but at this point it's probably my least favorite of all his albums
I'm back to livin' Floridays

I Gotta admit that many times Springsteen's LP's don't grab you at first but upon more spins they grow on you. Haven't purchased this yet.....listened to a freebie listen online previously and wasn't blown away at all......but.............

To Be Continued!

I think the album if you take each of the songs on there own work. I hate Queen of the Supermarket. I cant beleive the guys were like yeah Bruce this song is good. If that song had different lyrics it would be good.

But as a whole album I feel it lacks flow. And im like my 50th spin since Tuesday. Just trying to get it.

I got it yesterday and I like it, I do not love it. Seems a little more mellow then Magic. I've only listned twice.

Growing on me at this point. I do love The Wrestler, Kingdom of Days and Working on a Dream but the rest of it is not grabbing me yet.

I thought Outlaw Pete was cheesy, until I heard Bruce on VH1 explaining the lyrics over the song's video... now it's pretty damn impressive to me

..and you've just got to see the movie The Wrestler... when his song plays...it's incredibly powerful.
It's a crime that the song gets the Golden Globe, but wasn't even nominated for the Oscar :x

No there was some sort of weird rule where the song could not qualify for the Oscars. Some sort of loop hole.

An original song consists of words and music, both of which are original and written specifically for the motion picture. There must be a clearly audible, intelligible, substantive rendition (not necessarily visually presented) of both lyric and melody, used in the body of the motion picture or as the first music cue in the end credits.
I've read online that there might have been different music playing as the credits start, so this song wasn't eligible. Haven't seen the film, so I don't know. I've also read that only three songs got the minimum allowed score from nominators and that's why the Best Song category is so small.
