New album - release date?

Anyone have an idea on when the new album will come out? I'm hoping it will be released before summer.

Then don't buy it...its that simple. Plus, there are plenty of people that are big fans that aren't privy to the recordings "we can already get or have"; they will also enjoy this CD. Plus, the sound quality will be leaps and bounds better than any version we have access to. Case in point, the CD version of the Wrigley Field shows.

I am really looking forward to it...it will be nice to have a professionally produced, all-acoustic album. I might just buy two copies.

ok, at the risk of this getting taken wrong, and he can correct me if I am: CC was probably referring to the multiple live versions of the Tiki Time Tour as well as the studio albums, plus the box set, etc. Pretty much anyone with either a Bestbuy, a record store, or access to Amazon can get copies of all this.

It's been almost 3 years since the last album, yes, with some side projects in there, but 3 years. But it would be nice if the new album had something better on it than "We're Still Here (Accoustic)", and some of the other POS stuff that has been scrawled in the interim since the last one.

And shoot, if you want to buy six and give them to friends and family, go for it. If it's all "We're Still Here" quality, and you want to get started on rebuilding ties to ex-friends and family..

Doesn't really sound like any of the Tiki Time tour albums or any of his other albums now does it? In fact, the last sentence pretty much sums it up. Therefore, I don't think "We're Still Here" will make the cut. And if it does, I will be sure to make a copy, full of that song, and send it to you.

As I said, there are plenty of average Joes out there, like me, that don't have access to recorded versions of the live shows. I have been waiting for an album like this for years; all acoustic Jimmy playing many songs that aren't so common at his shows, as well as a few others. I will repeat; if you don't like it, don't buy it...it is really that simple. Isn't it great to have choices?

Some of the people in this forum really need an attitude check and need to ditch the pompous, elitist mentality. Stop throwing terds in the punch bowl!

I'd make a suggestion that you follow your own advice re: ditching the attitude.

and i can't imagine how you don't have access to any of the live shows that aren't the Tiki-time tour, etc... you found this site. you evidently have an internet connection. unless The City That Works (or at least has a phantom job at Sts&San....) is limited to dialup, and the USPS doesn't deliver to your neighbourhood, you have access to the whole collection of concerts. you even have access to the special collection that someone made of this "album" from the accoustic endings from the last tour. All it would take is a little less attitude, a little less Stage 6 - Jimmy is GOD, and it could be in your hands or burning earworms as early as tomorrow.

I look forward to this album. I like the acoustic songs JB does at the ends of his shows. "Distantly in Love" from Anguilla was great, as was his acoustic version of "Reggabilly Hill" from last year.

I concur, 100% !! I've had a hankerin' for an all acoustic release for years. I'll be a happy camper when it's out! From 2007:

Have you ever considered releasing an all-acoustic cd of yourself on Mailboat, and if so, might it be an upcoming project? You could title it "The Original Coral Reefer Band".

That would be available for release in 2010 if we were lucky.

While I manage well enough technologically, and have a 2-disc compilation of SunLover's Encores, and gingerbreadman's rare's from 2008's tour, I will much prefer a Mailboat release for the higher quality it will offer.

I was under the impression that this thread is more about how Jimmy's got some new songs and has been saying he's got enough for a new album and that was 2 years ago or whatever so where the hell is it? I don't think it had or has anything to do with the so-called acoustic album that may or might come out this year.

I agree. To me a new album means new material, not rehashed versions of songs we've been hearing for 20 or more years. Others' mileage may vary.

He does enough slow stuff for me and hell, his stuff's so light it's damn near accoustic anyway.
