Did Anyone record the Buffet Hotel album special?
I had two appointments this morning and could not listen to the RM special, did anyone record it?

I'm uploading the show now. It may be a while; my connection is running slow today.
MODS: Is it okay if I post the download links here for this show? Thanks!

There are a few more replays of it on Radio Margaritaville...I don't think I would post a bootleg recording of a CD that is for sale.
Jimmy does have to make a buck someway.

Makes sense to me. Possibly if just the interview portions were posted... that might work.Migration Michelle wrote:There are a few more replays of it on Radio Margaritaville...I don't think I would post a bootleg recording of a CD that is for sale.

Hey Snake, we need more wine!

I think you may have some legal issues here on Jokelben.gingerbreadman wrote:Makes sense to me. I believe mailboat is selling the audio commentary as a download.

They're selling Jimmy reading the liner notes from the cd, which is different than the conversation with Jimmy and Steve during the RM preview.moog wrote:I believe mailboat is selling the audio commentary as a download.

Why on earth would Jokelben have a problem or legal issue? Jokelben has no legal claims to this material or any other for that matter.kahuna01 wrote:I think you may have some legal issues here on Jokelben.
Re: Did Anyone record the Buffet Hotel album special?
Because the stuff is being sold commercially. Mailboat has a copyright.

Wow. Selling Jimmy reading printed material? I'm all for Jimmy making money, but seems they are digging a little deep now.
I suppose it is a nice way to get the printed material if you buy the music as a digital download. Still, I would hope that would just be a .PDF thrown in with the download.

Re: Did Anyone record the Buffet Hotel album special?
I think the problem is that the music is right off the album. It could cause a copyright violation

I'm well aware of that ... an earlier poster seemed to imply that *Jokelben* would have a problem with *someone else* (other than Jokelben) uploading the recorded RM broadcast, which is of course ridiculous.kahuna01 wrote:Because the stuff is being sold commercially. Mailboat has a copyright.

Actually, if someone uploads copyrighted material to the Jokleben FTP, The "owner" of jokleben could be charged with offering copyrighted material for download. And jokleben would go away.Migration Michelle wrote:I was confused about that comment as well...surfpirate wrote:I'm well aware of that ... an earlier poster seemed to imply that *Jokelben* would have a problem with *someone else* (other than Jokelben) uploading the recorded RM broadcast, which is of course ridiculous.kahuna01 wrote:Because the stuff is being sold commercially. Re: Did Anyone record the Buffet Hotel album special?
Gingerbreadman's suggestion was valid, could some one edit out the songs and post the comments that Jimmy and Steve make about the songs? That interview isn't for sale anywhere, I'm sure. The song portions aren't at great quality, but still I don't guess that they should be posted. I'd love to have the interview, though, I always like to listen to what Jimmy has to say about each song. This year, however, I missed it entirely, because I was in Tahiti for the release day and a couple of weeks afterwards. I have to say that if I do miss it entirely, it WAS worth it!

Perhaps I'm missing something - I thought at Jokleben one could only listen (stream), not download.
At least, I haven't noticed. Am I not looking? I've just been enjoying the hell out of listening to whatever. Haven't even thought about doing anything else. There's even, I believe, one show I was at that is on there.

Get an FTP program and download to your heart's desire. Burn em to CD. Load em up on your MP3 player or iPod. Fill up your computer's hard drive. IT'S MADNESS!!!!HurricaneSeason wrote:Perhaps I'm missing something - I thought at Jokleben one could only listen (stream), not download.
Sorry, a bit caffeinated this afternoon.

Being technically impaired, I just select each cut, do a "save as" to a file, move them to Windows Media and download them to my MP3 player. Using the FTP program certainly sounds a lot easier. But I have had very poor luck trying to burn CDs. I must be doing something wrong.
