It's another 2 hours until it's on here, so I'm watching the songs that are on CMT.com. I really enjoy watching Mac . . he seems like such a truly good guy and he is just the consummate craftsman. It doesn't appear that he needs the spotlight, he's quite content to stand back and just ply his craft . . .

I know the voices aren't real but they do have some good ideas.....

I had no idea who any of Zac's band members were, so I had to look to see who that Elvis might have been. I'm pretty sure it was John Driskell Hopkins, the bass player.

Great story about Zac's guitars and playing nylon-string classical guitars. It looks like Zac mostly played a Taylor during the CMT event.

This is from Acoustic Guitar April 2010:

Wanted to share this post here on setlist, since I know I'll come back here in the future:

I have to say I haven't really seen anything lately that was as compelling as this show. Even Mac appeared to be impressed with the actual music exchange between the two bands, a lot of respect being shared. Jimmy's own Bio, would reflect his Life was built around having his "toes in the water and ass in the sand". I have had ZBB CD for a long time and it already reminded me of Jimmy, but after last night, I know I am going to listen to A1A today for sure. Music can be SWEET and so it was last night!
And a very warm post. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I am so impressed with Zac Brown. I have never seen his show, but I sure like what I read about his musical life and what I saw during this CMT show. This is one of the best blendings of voices, bands, personalities, etc. I have ever seen. WOW, Jimmy sure picked a great talent to pass the TIKI TORCH to.

What a show....amazing! You could tell Zac was really enjoying it. Probably my favorite moment was during Margaritaville, when he ad libbed and added " Yes I am, yes I am whoa-o-o". The look on Jimmy's face was pure pride.
I feel like sending Zac a Buffettnews lanyard, 'cause it's obvious that "he gets it".

In watching CMT last night I noticed Zac's interesting necklace...and read that his LUCKY CHARM is a necklace his wife made for him.

(In this photo you can also see the photo of the soldier that was given to Zac by the parents of the soldier and Zach put it on his guitar...or so the story goes.)

Nice show.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.
