I have Spain also...beating England in the final. Sadly I don't have the USA making it out of the first round.

Slovenia looks tough. Gave up only 4 goals in 10 games in UEFA qualifying.APLATillman wrote:who in the group do you think finishes above the US? Slovenia or Algeria?wiscoleeds wrote:I have Spain also...beating England in the final. Sadly I don't have the USA making it out of the first round.

Beat Russia 1-0 after previously losing to them 2-1. They are the smallest country
in the world cup with 2 million residents. Out of that, they have 117,000 soccer
players.
Who's got the rum?

I am living in France at the moment and our house is next door to a wine cave. The owner is french and her husband is portugese. It always makes for some interesting times when the world cup is on and not much sleep on the nights France are playing.
Guess I should hide my Union Jack for a while........

Thinking of going to Portobelly's to watch.phijimanOK wrote:Will definitely be watching. Big watch party for USA v England game.
Predicting Spain pulls off the victory.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup
sad way to start out for the host nation...
Mandela relative killed after World Cup concert
JOHANNESBURG (AP)—Nelson Mandela’s 13-year-old great-granddaughter was killed in a car crash, forcing the former president to forego a hoped-for appearance at the World Cup’s opening game Friday.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation said Zenani Mandela died in a one-car accident after attending Thursday’s World Cup kickoff concert at the Orlando Stadium.
The foundation later confirmed Mandela would not attend the World Cup opening ceremony and first game in Johannesburg, dashing hopes the frail 91-year-old former president would make a rare appearance. Mandela and his family were “torn up” by the accident, the foundation said at its Johannesburg office.

Terrible news for Mandela....not the tradegy that S.A. needs. Hopefully there's strength enough to continue to celebrate the historic moment that this W.C. is!
