Two hours until I'm out of here and on my way to PAR-TAYYYYY...

Reading departure signs in some big airport
Reminds me of the places I've been
Visions of good times that brought so much pleasure ...Makes me want to go back again

Have fun all! Wish I was making the trip, but due to _ _ _ (fill in)_ _ _ it can't be done. Even going to miss Vegas.
Whats the story behind the escalator? Anything to do with Atlanta, after a Buffett show and in a MARTA station? If so, I was there for that one. You don't look like that guy though...
Have fun tonight!

Re: Who is going to Portland, Oregon - October 19th?
He went to PORTLAND ROSE GARDEN...some of it's magic, some of it's tragic . But I had a good life all the way
SOS.... S. O. S.
Last night MY DAUGHTER (28 years old) WAS GIVEN A TEE SHIRT AND ALL THE CORAL REEFER BAND SIGNED IT..... that was the magic part.... the tragic part is that she lost it.
HAS ANYONE FOUND IT AND IN THE GOOD SPIRIT THE BUFFETT KINGDDOM, could you please contact me. She has been attending concerts with me since she was 7 or 8 years old and she is so depressed about this.
Please, help me with this.
But, onto other great things.... (this is a really great and amazing thing....) one of Jimmy's employees last night gave me the actual guitar pick that he used last night. That does not take away from the crummy way my daughter feels today in loosing her tee shirt.
Please help.
And, finally, I feel so sad that it has come to an end for awhile. Thanks to each and every one of you for giving me such an amazing time. FINZ UP

Thanks for a great party. What a difference having it in that venue. We arrived early and left late, well not late enough to hear about the raffle!
Thanks again it was fun.

Re: Who is going to Portland, Oregon - October 19th?
I keep coming here, kinda peeking... I have a very bad case of the "buffett blues"... missing everyone. I have an aweseome story to tell... please, come closer and let me tell the coolest story.... come alittle closer.
Sierra, Jen (Island Hopper) and I were hungry after the show. We went up to our room at the TREE-TREE and everything was closed. WE hooked up with Rob but he had other plans (hee hee) and all got on the MAX. Rob got off at another stop. A gentleman with a turban got on at another stop. I got the courage to ask him if he knew of somewhere we could eat thinking he had to be a local..... it was late.He said, "NO."... a few minutes later he told us where he thought we could eat after viewing his GPS on his cell.
WE got off the MAX at the same time and he stopped us and said, "Of all of your outfits, (pointing then to me) he told me that I had the best of them..... and then he handed me a guitar pick and walked off. I looked down at it and it said on one side..JIMMY BUFFETT 2010.. the other side was a hang ten sign. He just kept walking and I ran after him to ask him what it all meant. He works for Jimmy and Jimmy told him to give it to someone deserving. It was just a few minutes later that a HUGE motor coach pulling a HUGE trailer came up.. and there was JIMMY sitting in the front and let out at the same Hotel that this gentlemen was staying. He told us they were flying into S. Cal for the Irvine show on Thursday. It was SURREAL for all of us.... especially me since I have loved him since the first time I saw him in the 70's way before the term, "parrotheads" even existed. so................. Sierra did loose her autographed tee shirt, but, I got his guitar pick, given to me from one of Jimmy's amazing employees. God Bless us all!!! this is a memory, I WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!!

Re: Who is going to Portland, Oregon - October 19th?
AND NOW that I have told my true story.. I must say how awesome it was to meet, Hang 10 and I believe whitepelican; of course I met, Parrothead Red, and he seemed to like my daughter, Sierra. I got to see Hawaii Boy and his lovely wife, Marie... and of course, VancouverIslander and Rob.
THE young man that was dressed up as "a mexican cutie".... was/is my son.
He had the huge sombero and womens mexican dress on... I raised my kids well.
sorry, I am writing so much.. but, I am so blue and just "reminiscing."
AND, VancouverIslander (Kevin) thank you for the amazing tickets. They were such a blessing. Marie and Hawaii Boy gave a ticket to Jen (Island Hopper)... what an amazing group of people and people that I can call my "FRIENDS."

Re: Who is going to Portland, Oregon - October 19th?
Beach Blonde - tell me the motor coach wasn't black - on Tuesday morning I awoke at our hotel (a few miles from the convention center) and saw a black motor coach with trailer parked on a side street - I didn't recall seeing it the night before. As I hung around and watched I thought to myself - could it possibly be Jimmy? The bus was from Alabama if I remember right and had Florida plates on the trailer. I saw two guys get out, open the trailer, take out a bike and one of them rode away. I kept watching it until we left for the pre party at about 1 pm, but did not see anything else. My gut feeling was that it may have been him!
Good score, hope your daughter finds her missing items. It was a pleasure to meet you guys.

Re: Who is going to Portland, Oregon - October 19th?
I will NEVER forget the first time that I heard Jimmy's voice, outside of "Come Monday" which I had heard on the radio but thought was a one hit wonder. A guy who I had just met (and I considered very worldly--and much older) asked me over to his house. To set the mood and to impress me, he took out some albums. (L & D 3/4 time and A1A) I was totally blown away... NOT by him, but, by the voice.. the music.... the way "HE--Jimmy Buffett" made me feel.whitepelican wrote:Great adventure B.B. Mine was West Palm Beach FL 1978.
The "date" told me that he had heard that he would be opening for, Jerry Jeff Walker and would I want to go?
I had never heard of Jerry Jeff Walker, but, I sooooo wanted to see this, Jimmy Buffett. So, in answer to your question... (again, I needed reminisce) May 20, 1976 at the Lane County Fair. (The Pink Crustacean Tour--although, I didn't know that at the time.)
I married the dude 3 months later and divorced him a year later. BUT, I stayed with Buffett.
SO... now I need to ask you a question...... I think that I met you ... were you the guy from Canada that was with Hang 10??? You can also tell me your story about your Florida experience in 1978.. We would love to hear it.

To my dear, dear, friend, Mason.... YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT..... It was that guy. He told us that he drove the teleprompter... Jen later quoted the famous BUFFETT quote..."I always said that I wouldn't use a teleprompter, and if I start to sing real flat, I'll hang it up. But, back to my story.......mason wrote:blondie, the guy in the turbin, runs the teleprompter for jimmy from a laptop in a cubicle to jimmy's right. he might be just behind where charleston stands watch. congrats on your good fortune.

I told him that our jobs are really quite alike.... I am a Karaoke Hostess.... He told me that my job would be a lot harder listening to drunk people signing in the microphone. He was SO LOW KEY. He just handed me the pic and walked away. It was surreal... and, YES.... MASON.. that WAS HIM. He is a member of the Sikh religion. I was so thrilled to get the pic that I wanted to hug him but didn't want to offend him so I asked if I could hug him... which he acknowledged that I could. It was amazing. I so want to thank him for his generosity and for the gift that he gave to me. How would I contact him???? Anyway, Mason... thank you for your post.
BUT.. BEFORE YOU GO.... what does, "charleston stands watch" mean???????

Re: Who is going to Portland, Oregon - October 19th?
Hi David, The Coach was not BLACK. It was sooo surreal seeing Jimmy in the front seat of this massive (and ahhhh so very expensive looking bus) and it was pulling a huge trailer behind it.. both were colored coordinated and off white with painted swirls as I remember. JENN, help me out here... how do you rememer the color, etc??? It was just such a surreal few minutes. I was still recovering from the pic and from that amazing man. No one has asked us where it dropped Jimmy off at.... but, all three of us....(me, Island Hopper-Jen, and Sierra) know that secret!!! David, I loved your story. Jen, what do you think?? And, David, I hope she finds her tee shirt, too.hang ten wrote:Beach Blonde - tell me the motor coach wasn't black - on Tuesday morning I awoke at our hotel (a few miles from the convention center) and saw a black motor coach with trailer parked on a side street - I didn't recall seeing it the night before.
