"HOT WATER" by Jimmy Buffett . . . egads, it came out 22 years ago!

I'd forgotten just how good this album is! It has a pretty good "supporting cast" . . .

•Rita Coolidge: Background vocals on "Bring Back the Magic"
•Hugh McCracken: Acoustic guitar, mandolin, dobro, bass harmonica & lead guitar on "Prince of Tides"
•Steve Winwood: Organ and background vocals on "My Barracuda"
•Grover Washington, Jr.: Horns on "That's What Living Is to Me" and "Pre-You"
•The Neville Brothers: Background vocals on "Bring Back the Magic", "Great Heart", "Homemade Music", "My Barracuda", "Smart Woman (In a Real Short Skirt)"
•Timothy B. Schmit: Bass on "L'Air de la Louisiane", background vocals on "Prince of Tides", "Great Heart", "L'Air de la Louisiane"
•Michael Utley: Keyboards, organ, synthesizers
•Ralph MacDonald: Percussion
•Robert Greenidge: Steel drums
•Greg "Fingers" Taylor: Harmonica
•Russell Kunkel: Drums and percussion
•The Memphis Horns: Horns
•Wayne Jackson: Trumpet, trombone
•Andrew Love: Alto and tenor sax
•Richard Tee: Piano on "Pre-You"
•Donald "Duck" Dunn: Bass
•Steve Cropper: Electric guitar
•Marcus Miller: Bass on "King of Somewhere Hot"
•Anthony Jackson: Bass on "That's What Living Is to Me"
•Alex Blake: Bass on "Pre-You"
•Jeff Miranoff: Electric guitar on "Pre-You"

People who ask me what I’m doing tomorrow probably assume that I even know what day of the week it is.

Robert Earl Keen

The more that I listen to Front Porch Song on this CD; the more I enjoy it.
Also like Barbecue for obvious reasons.
Hoist up the mainsail...add a little BAM to the ginger ale...

I've held out for a very long time on buying any of Buffett's early records on CD in hopes that he'll finally see fit to release remastered, expanded versions of them someday but so far that hasn't happened. I figure once I acquire them all (at least everything up to and including Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes) he'll decide to put them out. In the meantime I'm enjoying listening to one of my all time favorite records (by Buffett or anyone else) in it's entirety for the first time in far too long.

A1a is a keeper for sure.

ETP, I really dig Verlon. Unique as all get out, but so enjoyable.

Doing Las Vegas again over and over, after my 3 mile walk with Zac BB and You Get What You Give. I'm in love with that album. I think it may be my favorite album of all EVER!!! It's so eclectic, yet has such a great spiritual theme.
