Is anyone else going to the "WMGK Let Freedom Rock Fest" at the SBC on the 4th of July?
This year they have "YES" & "STYX" as the headliners.
Lawn seats are only $10, and indoor seats are only $29 (with fees included).

We have lost one of our own today. Tailgating in Camden, Jones Beach, Bristow and others will never be the same. MOTM will be missing a great supporter and I as well as many, many others have lost a dear friend.Saltx3 wrote:IrishPirate wrote:

Tropic Al
I came on the scene a while back after being left alone and feeling alone, and through buffettnews.com- I found a tailgate party and one of the first people I met was
“Tropic Al” Morris…I admit I was more than a little intimidated; the man was a giant, but a gentle giant.
As we began talking and he was being the “Trooper” he was… and interrogating me…I guess to see if I deserved to belong…we ended up sharing beers and finding a common New Jersey background. He began introducing me to people, so many people that I can now call “true” friends, I can honestly say that Al has helped change my life, for the better.
He was a “Voice of Reason” because we were a “Voice of Season” so to say. He’s always been there, and so many pounced on the opportunity to know him more intimately than I chanced, and that is my loss now.
I think about this up coming tour and the years ahead, and the thought that Al won’t be there waiting for us in the Camden Lot, with the RV, telling us where to park, I have to say it hurts deeply inside.
The idea that Al won’t be hosting alongside his wife and daughter at all the functions and raising monies for so many needy organizations that they do together effortlessly all year long, year after year, hurts deeply inside.
Please sleep easy… knowing that so many people are willing to help Penny and Gabrielle achieve their goals to those dedications and commitments into the future. We know and understand how much that meant to you.
I believe that we will miss your infectious smile and your contagious laugh the most.
Our “Camden Crew” will never be the same without you Al.
Thanks for being my friend,
Billy “Sunset Chef” Smith

I didn't realize your posts were about Al, who Kevin & I met for the first time last year in Camden. I'm shocked by the news. As with Kevin and Linda I met Al in person for the first time last year. Al was one of the couple of you that welcomed us new folks to the Camden hoopla last spring. It took but a few minutes in the parking lot to appreciate his warm and friendly personality...he was the man.
I mentioned this in the Sail On thread...Al was such a focal point to the Philly shows I think a wonderful honor and memorial to him would be to contact Jimmy somehow and ask him to play a song in his memory on June 23. How can we make this happen?
If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane ...

Before Al & I had ever even met,
he saw me on here talking about how hard I was trying to get a LandShark lanyard.
Al PM'd me for my home address, and sent me one.
He had told me not to tell everyone where I got it from.
Sorry Al.

JollyMon, I was wondering the same thing. But I don't have an answer.
Al was a fixture at the Camden show and was often down in front.
