Comcast Center - There will be NO Lawn release (OOPS)
I was at the Comcast Center this weekend and was told that there will not be any release of lawn seats. Normally over the past many years there was a release about 2 weeks before the show (both shows). Two people told me they were told that they oversold the lawn so you will not see any lawn release on ticketmaster. That is what happens when you drop from two shows to one show.
So for those that were holding out for a release, its going to cost $157 (cost of a seat plus SC ) to get in unless you find them in the parking lot. No word on the good seats, although there was a small release last week in Section 5.
Other options - Since the premium seating (club seats) have not sold very well this year, they have been selling them at the box office on the day of the show.
UPDATE: I guess I should never listen to the box office. There are lawns on livenation.com as of 9pm (June 16th)

Re: Lawns (Comcast Center)- There will be NO release
By club seats do you mean the ones with table service? Aside from being waited on I've never understood why anyone would want to sit that far back if they didn't have to.
Thanks for the input, I was hoping to upgrade my Sec 2 Row Z single the day of the show but that sounds like it's not likely either.

Charging $157 for the open air seats (same cost as a section 2 seat) should be a felony. It's no wonder there are still open air seats available. Hopefully there will be a ticket drop of good seats sometime between now and show time. Thanks for the info and let us know if you hear anything else.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Agreed, can they even POSSIBLY be wondering why they haven't sold them?

At the ATL concert, the $157 seats went on sale for $47 a week before the concert....

Re: Lawns (Comcast Center)- There will be NO release
"They" (Jimmy) has actually sold a sh*t ton of them. No, they are not sold out. But the overwhelming majority of open air seats have, indeed, been sold. I would say close to 80% + have been sold. Practically every other act this summer can't even sell the good seats.ScarletB wrote:MrBill64 wrote:Charging $157 for the open air seats (same cost as a section 2 seat) should be a felony. At 157$ (and I am sure alot of those seats were sold by scalpers for more because people are retarded) it just goes to show how popular Jimmy still is. Look at the interactive seat chart through livenation . . . Great Woods will be slammed - as always - for Jimmy.
Look at some of the other acts and have a good laugh. I can't see how many of them will even break even for their tours. Some have yet to sell 30% of the tickets total . . . and that includes the good seats. Gotta take it in context.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Amazing to me that people would by them but as you said, retarded. I think the fact that there is only one show might be affecting it as well. Not even many scalper tickets in the front rows.drunkpirate66 wrote:"They" (Jimmy) has actually sold a sh*t ton of them. No, they are not sold out. Re: Lawns (Comcast Center)- There will be NO release
Most people go to Jimmy in big groups and want to sit together. They put in for 6 - 8 tickets the second ticketmaster opens up for business at 10AM and whatever comes up they buy . . . and are happy to do so. Whether it is section 2 or section 14 they are going to see Jimmy Buffett with their friends and will have many a happy memory. Its just money, afterall.ScarletB wrote:Amazing to me that people would by them but as you said, retarded. I think the fact that there is only one show might be affecting it as well. The only people I know who put in for singles are Buffettnews people. The people who put in for singles have the luxury of waiting, playing the game, boycotting the open air seats, and saying selling them for the same price as a front row seat should be considered "theft." Horsesh*t. Jimmy sells them. People buy them. Even last year, for the thursday show, the majority of the open air seats were sold. More then any other act last summer.
I am not a fan of those seats but the fact is people are paying for them and will, apparently, continue to do so.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Re: Lawns (Comcast Center)- There will be NO release
I guess saying selling open air seats for the same price as a seat in the front sections is a "felony" might not have been the right term to use. But at the same time selling an obstructed view seat in section 14 (some of these are listed that way) for the same price as seats in section 2 just doesn't seem morally right. I get the "hey, if people are buying them so be it" argument, but damn, it just seems wrong. But you are right, people will buy these seats and have a great time with wonderful memories and it is only money.

Isn't the term "Lawn Seats" and oxymoron?Steele1161 wrote:I was at the Comcast Center this weekend and was told that there will not be any release of lawn seats. No lawn ticket release, no big surprise. I've been saying this from the day the tickets went on-sale it was unlikely any would be released.. I can't remember in the past many lawn tickets being released anyway. Even the ticket agency in Boston have not listed lawn tickets for weeks. Ace Ticket did not have lawns available the past 6 weeks. This week they did post a few at $150ea.

had two small venues one in Boise and One in Spokane
they told the entertainment clown (writer) for the newspaper in Boise that (he is little more than a shill for those guys.)
" Boise just won't support any regular small/mid range artists "
Spokane always out sells Boise..
Right.. let's do the math
Spokane?? more people in a 2 hour Radius (the "Official" longest travel time of average concert goers)
Spokane?? got the Friday and Saturday night shows
Boise?? Tuesday and Thursday (that way they could open the Venue as a night club on weekends)
OH and..... Wait for it....
the Spokane club?? held almost 400 more people...
they have since sold to the Knitting Factory chain
But Really?? Really???
so I have no faith in anybody knowing nothin'

Re: Lawns (Comcast Center)- There will be NO release
Agreed. I've been doing great woods for several years and dont' recall ever seeing another lawn seat release in the week before the show. If I can't get them on LiveNation when they go on sale (i did this year though!!), I just bite the bullet and buy an open-air one. The price isn't that much different than a StubHub lawn ticket, and I have somewhere to sit down if I want... I'm usually just half-naked on the lawn though...BottleofRum wrote:Isn't the term "Lawn Seats" and oxymoron?Steele1161 wrote:I was at the Comcast Center this weekend and was told that there will not be any release of lawn seats. SeatGeek is showing a fair number of seats in the open air section for less than $157 - not a LOT less, but less.
This is the first time there are very few close up seats listed on any site though.

Re: Lawns (Comcast Center)- There will be NO release
There are barely any tickets left for Jimmy Buffett in then open air - seating at Great Woods.
http://www.livenation.com/event/0100466 ... 34667:8213
Sections that hold close to 1,000 seats have 22 seats left on sale (Section 12). The corner sections (Sections 10 and 14) have 86 seats and 60 seats left respectively (that is far less than 10%). The really sh*t sections (Sections 9 and 15) have 33 and 20 seats left. Really? These seats are selling, have sold, and will continue to hold value.
Facts are facts. Who is the nob who claims these seats aren't selling? If anything, we should be lucky they don't cover the entire lawn with these seats because it would mean more profit for Mr. Jimmy. They . . . are . . . selling. Thank you for leaving some lawn . . . I bow down. You win. I tap. I tap.
Compare with Def Leopard and Heart.
Poor guys. They are f*cked.

Section 11 has 972 tickets available
Section 10 has 796 tickets
Section 13 has 793 tickets
Sections 9 and 15 not even opened . . .
SECTION 2! Has 66 Tickets Available.
Why even bother?
Jimmy, you are doing just fine.

I was down at the box office on Saturday looking for tickets. Historically, the Saturday before the show there has been some release. Nothing.
Again, had discussion with the box office people. They don't expect anything back from live nation (normally the rows W-Z in Sec 2) and the wild card is what, if any tickets, Jimmy Buffett will release when he get in town.
So I expect long lines at the box office for those that don't have tickets.

No, you have the "forbidden 403" bug. If you have been hitting ticketmaster or livenation a lot, they have kicked you out of their systems so you can not get it. It should say something like 403 error.looks@40 wrote:anyone else having a problem accessing Live Nation or Ticketmaster ???? Seems like maybe their server is down ?????
What ticketmaster/live nation does is count the number of times a IP address hits its server. After so many times, they don't allow the IP Address to enter their system until 24 hours later. They think you are a computer buying tickets
If you have an I phone, I touch or I pad, you can download the livenation app and purchase tickets. It allows you to buy tickets even if you IP address does not allow you to buy it on a computer. Best thing about the app, there is not "word" to type in
