You can here his weakeness.yet hispower that hes trying to deliver his music with.its bittersweet. The liner notes expalin that he almost cancelled this show the day before. and you are correct redemption song does come from this show.Tiki Torches wrote:I haven't picked it up but have been meaning to ever since I first heard of it's release. From what I've heard from friends, you can definitely hear the weakness in his performance (since it was his last one) but that's also a huge part of what makes it so poignant. If I'm not mistaken, the live version of "Redemption Song" from the Songs of Freedom box set comes from this same concert.backstreets77 wrote:Im probably a month late on this release but I just picked up Bob Marley and the Wailers Live Forever. I love me some live Marley. Im really enjoying it.

If you haven't heard The Civil Wars, I highly recommend them. They're categorized as indie folk, but there's more to them than that. It has a kind of dirty bluegrass vibe to it. Eh...I'm tired of trying to classify music today with its 16,000 labels. Basically, their album Barton Hollow is amazing and you should check them out.

I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.
She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been hearing a lot about them but have yet to check them out. They had a show at the Pour House in Raleigh recently but before I could secure a ticket it'd already sold out.maid memories wrote:If you haven't heard The Civil Wars, I highly recommend them. This one hasn't left my CD player a lot lately, the debut record from Mt. Moriah:

Sunday morning Blues on WZLX.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Havana Daydreamin'-Jimmy Buffett
Found it at a local Barnes n' Noble today.Couldn't believe it cause they usually have nothing from him except newer albums.

I'm juggling a couple of them right now:

Doug Sahm - "Doug Sahm: The Genuine Texas Groover"

Willis Alan Ramsey - "Willis Alan Ramsey"
Randy Stonehill - "Wonderama"

Harry Nillson - "Pandemonium Shadow Show"

As a fan of Doug Sahm's, I'm curious as to whether or not you've ever heard this album and if you have, what you think of it.mikemck wrote:

Be sure to check it out if ever you get the chance, I have a feeling you'll really enjoy it. Periodically you can find it on sale for a very reasonable price via the Bloodshot Records website.mikemck wrote:Hey, Tiki.
