Where is it with relation to the town of Southhold? I have customers who are buying a house there and have invited me to come stay there at some point.

I wasn't sure where Southold was so I mapguested it. Oddly enough, it's on the north fork of the east end of LI. There are 2 ways to get from Southhold to Amagansett. Take the Shelter Island ferry, cross Shelter Island, take the other ferry on the south end of Shelter Island then go to Amagansett. Mapquest says that's 23 miles. Or you could drive west from Southold, go around the west end of the bay then drive east again. Mapquest says that's 49 miles. Either way, it's a little over an hour. No highways, rural roads with mostly one lane in each direction.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

So basically what you're saying is "you can't get there from there"LIPH wrote:I wasn't sure where Southold was so I mapguested it. Oddly enough, it's on the north fork of the east end of LI. Re: What is your MUST SEE venue?
And not to rub it in even more, but like I said in another thread I wasn't even planning on going to this show. Even after Jimmy made the comment at the Jones Beach show about how "you never know who might show up." I didn't buy my ticket until last Thursday. As small as the Talkhouse is, I was surprised it wasn't sold out when I went online last week.

Loved the talkhouse last night: intimate, kinda dive-bar like, and a very memorable night! Would love to see jb on a Caribbean beach.. Perhaps at ivans on jost van dyke jamming with Ruben chinnery!

A while back started the Labor Day weekend (thank you, karma, but really did a hurricane have to cause the reschedule?) at the Jiffy Lube Live concert. NO TAILGATING!!!!!! As always a great show but very subdued. Next up, somewhere warm!!!!
Recommendations, y'all? The transplanted southern girl is mapping out the roadtrips well in advance!

Re: What is your MUST SEE venue?
My must see Venue is.......
A bar where there is maybe 30 people tops in it. Just walks in unannounced, picks up a axe, and plays a few songs. After his few songs, sits back at the bar, throws back a few drinks, talks sports and leaves. Plain and simple.

Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

Putting in my two cents for Frisco and Great Woods. Love them both for different reasons.
Which reminds me...since I've moved...RV for Frisco? Hm...

Re: What is your MUST SEE venue?
You can come stay at my house -Hampton Bays -straight run to the Talkhouse & I know the back roads -been there many times to see Ilo (Jimmy was at his first show there) and also got to see Mac there once. Plus I can do a drive by so you can see Jimmy's boat in person (I stalk it all summer)-now if someone would just trust me & give me his address in North Haven I can take you there alsoScarletB wrote:So basically what you're saying is "you can't get there from there"LIPH wrote:I wasn't sure where Southold was so I mapguested it. Re: What is your MUST SEE venue?
Tampa and Frisco have been the best tailgates I have been to. Put me in eiter one of those again and I'll be perfectly content. and tipsy.
If I had to pick, I'd love to see him in Cincinnati one year (to see where it all started). I'd also love to see him in a random bar on a beach somewhere.
