Crazy rumor about the Yum Center in Louisville
I've heard from 2 different unrelated sources that have connections with the Yum Center in Louisville that Jimmy will be playing there March 3rd. This seems crazy to me considering the history he has in Cincy and Indy. Why would he play in Louisville at a place like the Yum Center? There is nowhere to tailgate. A friend of mine said he remembers the last time Jimmy was in Louisville was at the fairgrounds and was angered because they wouldn't let people tailgate. That was the reason he didn't come back to Louisville. I'm not sure if that's true but it sounds believable. Jimmy had a bit more p155 and vinegar in him 20 years ago. Has anyone else heard of the show on the 3rd? I wouldn't have believed it had I not heard it from multiple sources. TIA.

Could it possibly be a corporate show a la the WalMart show a couple of years ago?

I guess that could be possible. I sure hope that's not the case because I'm dying to go. I also can't imagine what Louisville corporation would do that. Yum is big but doesn't have a huge corporate office and mainly involves itself in UL athletics. Of course there is Humana, Ford, Brown Forman and UPS.

I like to see Jimmy play Louisville, but not the Yum Center. I'd much rather see him play Waterfront Park but not in March (too damn cold) LOL.

Given the confirmed Little Rock (3/1) and Birmingham (2/25) shows, it would fit.
So the question is, where's he playing on 2/28?

I heard Louisville right after I heard Birmingham.......guess this tour isn't going to end any time soon.......BigR-KyParrothead wrote:sounds like it is indeed sat march 3rd

Here's the dirt on Louisville. Two days after AK in Louisville, KY.
WHAS 84 Louisville radio host Terry Meiners tweeted:
"Soon-to-be-announced Louisville concerts: Jimmy Buffett (March 3); Madonna (November 2012)"
I don't know who this guy is....but he tweeted it....so it must be true....
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

Ok I live in Louisville, Terry is an awesome radio host. Anyone who has never been here would say that there isn't a huge yum office, there is. Yum owns Taco Bell, Pizza hut and KFC. The center is amazing and is basically a bar with a basketball court. There isn't a parking lot to tailgate, but its still winter here and its cold. Be prepared for snow. I am excited to go to a concert where I dont have to pay for a hotel.

I've been frantically trying to confirm this rumor this morning...but I've found nothing. I just checked Terry's Twitter stream, and I can't find that tweet...when did he say this?Carolinadreamin' wrote:I heard Louisville right after I heard Birmingham.......guess this tour isn't going to end any time soon.......BigR-KyParrothead wrote:sounds like it is indeed sat march 3rd

So far, there's no confirmation on Jimmy's site, or on the Yum Center site. But my husband did hear it mentioned on WLKY news this morning...but can we actually confirm?! This will be amazing if it's true!!!!!

Ugh. Louisville is my hometown, but I don't even know where the "Yum" center is. If there's no tailgating and it's the tail end of the Welcome to FinLand tour, I'm guessing we'll bow out of this one. Waiting for Cinci !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Crazy rumor about the Yum Center in Louisville
If it IS at the Yum Center, there are plenty of resturants and bars around the arena(including Joes Crab Shack). Not tailgating but its the next best thing. Gonna be fun.
