The Margaritaville Destin, Fl. Opening Early 2014
We have waited about a year before posting this. Margaritaville is rumored to be coming to the Destin Harborwalk area. We have been hearing this rumor for about a year from many locals. Recently it has come to a crescendo throughout the real estate "gurus" around town. Nothing officially announced, but this what we have heard: Margaritaville is looking to build on the former site of The Lucky Snapper, most recently operated as Tightlines Seafood Restaurant. The building is located near the mouth of the Destin harbor, on the Harborwalk and would be part of the Emerald Grande complex.
Cat and I attended the Destin Seafood Festival a week ago and walked around the now closed Tightlines. The location has one of the best views of the East Pass (where the boats enter and exit the harbor). The building is in pretty bad shape and hasn't been remodeled much since it was gutted by Hurricane Opal in 1995. It would probably need to be knocked down and rebuilt to Margaritaville specs and current building codes. This area already has many local and chain restaurants and Margaritaville would be a good fit. I personally wonder why M'ville Corporation would build another location when there is already a M'ville Hotel 45 miles west in Pensacola and a Margaritaville Cafe 55 miles to the east in Panama City. But this is where Jimmy grew up so he has strong connections here. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. After taking the recent Itracks Margaritaville Online Study, I'd have to say the M'ville Corporation is up to something.

Why not? you can find clusters of Hooters all over the country. Some areas have 3 or 5 withing a 50 mile radius.dnw wrote:3 Margaritavilles within 100 miles of each other?

Go to Seoul, South Korea, and count the Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks...dnw wrote:3 Margaritavilles within 100 miles of each other?
In one area, when you pass a Starbucks then turn left OR right next corner, there will be the next one...

But isn't it
a *flock* of Seagulls;
a *gaggle* of Geese;

When the Margaritaville Hotel opened here on Pensacola Beach the rumor was that the Margaritaville restaurant would be open by May 2011. Haven't heard anymore about it since last year.

While doing some public information research through http://www.corporationwiki.com, we came across a recently formed Florida corporation for Margaritaville Beach Cafe, Inc. located in Destin, Fla. The corporation was formed in Nov. 2012 with one listed officer, Daniel Mimi, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Home office listed in Orlando, Fla. http://www.corporationwiki.com/search/r ... le&x=0&y=0. This keeps the rumor afloat for another 'Ville coming to the Gulf Coast. Another piece of the puzzle?

Re: The Margaritaville Destin, Fl. Rumor
hmmm....I sure hope so !!!! Please don't let it be that a 'Daniel Mimi' is trying to get a bar there and thinks he can use the "Margaritaville" name.catsway wrote:While doing some public information research through http://www.corporationwiki.com, we came across a recently formed Florida corporation for Margaritaville Beach Cafe, Inc. located in Destin, Fla. Re: The Margaritaville Destin, Fl. Rumor
While still unofficially announced by Margaritaville Inc., I found these artist's renderings posted at the site of the new Margaritaville Destin, Florida. Site preparation is underway with the old "Hurricane Hole", located on the lowest level of the former Lucky Snapper Restaurant, totally gutted. We are wondering how long it will be before Margaritaville.com makes everything offical?

During Cultural Infidels at the Atlanta show Jimmy says "I'll see you in Destin @ Margaritaville right at the 4 minute mark at the end of the song. Then he says "only time will tell" at the end of the song. Sounds like its happening.

Thank you for sharing! Remarkable hearing you have there WoodlandsPH! I had to listen twice to catch it. It makes sense that he would give us a tease at ATL. About 10% of our tourist dollars come from the ATL metro area.WoodlandsParrotHead wrote:During Cultural Infidels at the Atlanta show Jimmy says "I'll see you in Destin @ Margaritaville right at the 4 minute mark at the end of the song. A meeting was held today with the other store operators at Harborwalk Village (the proposed location for M'ville). The word from the meeting is a November/December opening. But this being Lower Alabama, things could take longer.
