Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham
"I gotta fly to St. Somewhere..." We’re very excited to announce that Margaritaville has entered into a partnership with Wyndham Vacation Ownership, the world’s largest vacation ownership company, to create Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham. Wyndham will develop Margaritaville resorts, starting with the conversion of a 34-acre property in St. Thomas, slated to begin later this year. Stay tuned for updates!
We were in St. Thomas, USVI in early November and spent the day with our former neighbors who have retired down island. We visited their home in Pineapple Village, not far from Red Hook and Coki Beach. They filled us in on the plans to renovate Pineapple Village into a Margaritaville Resort. The public areas were fairly run down from previous financial troubles. But if Margaritaville's investors pump some cash into it, it should be pretty sweet. Great location on Pineapple Beach on a protected bay.
If your ever in St. Thomas, try their daughter's restaurant "Fish Tails" located at the entrance to the Red Hook ferry to St. John's.

The article I read yesterday is that Wyndham is expecting to spend $90million+ to upgrade/renovate the property.

Fun article, from a past timeshare shark. Reminds me of lyrics from Fins:
Can’t you feel ’em circlin’, honey
Can’t you feel ’em swimmin’ around
You got fins to the left, fins to the right
And you’re the only bait in town
Proceed with caution, gain as much knowledge as you can about the industry. We own a timeshare and they will eat you like you are bloody bait.
There is some good info about the industry on this website.

It reminds me of Morris's Nightmare, only instead of a tacky cruise ship it will be a vacation club.

The article also states that this will be redone from a hotel set-up to Time Share Condos. Interesting...but I don't think I'd want to be somewhere where they're trying to pitch me something.
