Unquestionably my first female rocker/musician crush.
Here's hoping she can continue to lead a long & satisfying life.

Right there with you on the rocker/musician crush.
In 1977 I wore out my 8-track of Simple Dreams.
What an amazing voice. What an amazing album.

Daaaaamm, what a bad piece of business. Bad s***, that disease.

One of my first cassette tapes (back then) ever was her greatest hits collection. I also have the CD. Great times, in the 70's.

Think I'll play it tonight.

I got on a Linda Ronstadt kick several months ago after reading an article in Rolling Stone about the "mellow mafia" (article below); musicians like Waddy Wachtel, David Lindley, Danny Kortchmar, Leland Sklar, Russ Kunkel, etc. that backed Ronstadt, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, etc. on their albums back in the 70's and 80's. This got me to wondering whatever became of Linda. Now, we know. How very sad.

Back when there was plenty of room in Hotel California, a crew of hard-living session men created the sound of the 1970s

Read that article as well, some good stuff. I would also recommend the book "Hotel California" by Barney Hoskyns, a look at the California music scene from the sixties through the late '70's. Very good.
