So we have only been to the area once for an Incubus concert and we stayed downtown by the stadiums. I have a couple different hotels book as of now, wondering where the best place to stay is. We are coming in Sunday so we can get to the lots early Monday. Any help would be appreciated. Just going to be me and my lovely wife for this trip. All are welcome to stop by our place. I will have my Bears canopy, mobile tiki bar and weed-eater blender! And I can't forget my cooler radio and if its hot...I will have my homemade misting station to cool passerby's off. Looking forward to our first Buffett show in Cinci!

Make your trip to Cincinnati an extended weekend. There is plenty to do with the "Banks" Newport on the Levee" Horseshoe Casino down town and the new Belterra Park (located next to Riverbend Music)
Come in Friday or Saturday for the BuckleUp Festival July 18-20th. http://buckleupfestival.com/ Volunteer to work a shift and get in free.
PartofthePhlock wrote:Greetings from Cincy! I took a ride down the the Riverbend today. All the changes to River Downs (now known as Belterra Park) are jaw dropping. I took some pics and will post them tomorrow. There have been some changes in the tailgate lot sizes. The lot where the Cincy PHC sets up for tailgate has not changed. The lot on the other side of Sutton and Kellogg has grown as much as it can grow. The lot has been cleared and graveled to the fence row, about another 25% of tailgate area.
The huge lot on Kellogg that as across from the RD parking lot and the stables has changed. This is where they plan to build the hotel and I am not sure when that is to occur....but do think it will be sooner than later. the East side of this big lot has been cleared in a couple tiers these are not accessible yet. the the lot is now graveled to Kellogg road. the west side of this lot is pretty much the same with the exception of an access road that goes up the hill - this road is cabled off.
The race track has been moved further east and there is now several parking areas between the racino and riverbend. that could come in handy concert day.
It looks like the retail area is going to be on the lower level with glass walls. Belterra Park is scheduled to open in May.
one last thing. AJ's Road house closed last fall and has been for sale....for an outrageous amount.
Fins up!
I'm very interested to see what the lots look like. We're planning on bringing our camper and tailgating in the big lot on Kellogg but if it's drastically changed then...
I think it will be ok. They just made the big lot bigger. May have to get in line slightly earlier. We will have the enclosed trailer with all our stuff plus a few new things No RV this year though. We are still planning on shrimp boil, burgers and brats.

I am sick at heart. We won't be able to make it to Cinci this year. Unbelievable. But Gary's knee is still healing, he can't walk more than down the driveway without hurting. So we will miss the pre-party, the tailgate, the concert but more importantly seeing and hugging all our Cinci friends. Not to mention Tom and Pam's food !!! ugh I'm not happy about this. AT ALL !!! But there's next year.
Everybody have a LOT of fun and post pictures on this thread !!! Even videos, especially if somebody does something crazy (which is highly likely).
to ya'll....
Do not resent growing old. Many are denied the privilege.

dammit. and this year was going to be good. really good. I am sorry to hear about Gary's knee.
Me and a group of our friends are going. Cinci is always a blast. This will be our 11th concert there. We've only ever gone to the Cinci concert. Where are other venues that shouldn't be missed?

depends on the time, depends on how you feel about different parts of the country
