The Fairgrounds website says the morning of the show they have a Color Me Rad 5K Run. That's the race where you wear white clothes and get doused with colors as you go. It says it is being held in the mall area of the property. Hopefully this doesn't become an afternoon time for the opening.

We will be there tailgating this year in our normal spot under the trees, more low-key than normal FYI... We are going to try and relax this tailgate instead of spending hours building stages, etc. If the tailgate starts later than normal in the day I anticipate we will start the day pool-side at the LaQuinta and will bring out the speakers to have some tropical tunes while waiting on the lot to open. I'm sure the LaQuinta wouldn't mind if we grouped up pool-side if it ends up being a late opening to the parking lot. No RV planned for us this year.

Sounds like a plan Adrian. We are staying at the LaQuinta also. We've prepartied poolside there before. Never been an issue. Looking forward to a much needed trip to Tampa with friends.

Long time lurker of the forum but decided to finally register to get some insight.

My group and I are always one of the first cars in at Tampa every year around 9am but with them switching the time to 1pm and charging for parking that throws a huge wrench in our plans. Anyone know of any pre tailgate areas that we can get the party going before 1pm - because for us that's crazy late.
