Tig is bringing her grill & said anyone can use it.
Thanks, I thought I read that but couldn't find it.

Never in the past have we ever paid any attention to the alcohol policy at GW. We came, we ate, we drank, we cleaned up, saw the show and went home happy.
My wife and I missed the last 2 years at GW - and it seems (I may be wrong or missed it in the past) but listed on the Xfinity Policy page, I saw the following:
"Tailgating - Patrons are welcome to picnic in the parking lot or any grassy area prior to entering the ticket gates. Town of Mansfield bylaws prohibit the consumption of alcohol in our parking lot. Any patron violating the bylaw risks eviction from the property. All alcohol must be purchased inside the ticket gates by our concessionaire, Sportservice, and requires proper ID".

Is this new or has this always been the case? At past shows, we've watched with amusement, the undercover folks mingle and basically catch the underage drinkers - usually giving them opportunity to dump it/pack up their tail gate and go inside or be evicted/arrested.

In years past we have brought our mini-port-a-potty/privacy tent that we set up next to our vehicle. It seems they have banned those too. We've always left our spot as clean or cleaner than we arrived, never dumping anything.

Any insight or is this the norm?

The alcohol policy enforcement has not changed since my first Buffett show there in 1993. They leave you alone unless you're underage (which I was in 1993  ) or acting like an ass. They post no alcohol allowed but the people who are calm and not aggressive the cops leave them alone. So the no alcohol allowed is more of a frowned upon policy, like masterbating on an airplane

The portable pop-up pee tents they did enforce last year and made people take them down. They were very strict about that last year.

That was because people were leaving them for GW to clean up. I probably don't blame them on that. Alcohol hasn't been a issue with most people of legal age , they did have issues a few years back with underage drinking , also problems with people stealing liquor from people who left coolers out , and went into the show. They did do the ticket check to curb some of the drinking , people going to tailgate but not the show. If I recall they really haven't checked the last couple of years.

Thanks guys / gals. This is what I thought - it was just a little odd to actually "see" it in print. My first GW Buffett experience was back in '87 and it was basically a free for all then. Kind of what Country Fest has turned into now. LOL Love the atmosphere now - older - controlled but still a ton of fun.

Ok folks.......we're two weeks out........

Shaw's at 10 am? Who's leading the parade so to speak?

I know we're coping without our wonderful Dave food so.........potluck?

Who's got a pop up tent?

We're flying in but we'll buy chairs, cooler and food. I need this weekend.......badly as do others......let's start herding some cats! :pirate:

I have just been told Corks is no longer open. That's the liquor store next to Shaws.

Plan your booze requirements early!

There's a Wines and More in Mansfield Crossing on School St, about a mile away. Opens at 9:00

Parking question - parking in the Premium lot (not the VIP lot) - in the past, I have got stuffed into the wrong lane and ended up getting routed all around to eventually get in to the premium lot. Time wasted probably reduced my rhum intake by 2...
From which direction on Rt 140 is best and which lane is best to get into the lot efficiently?
We'll probably be hitting the exit ramp on 495 at 1030 AM.

Thanks in advance.

As you go into the lot off of 140, regardless of what direction you come you want to be in the left lane as you look at the venue.
