Halal chicken and rice from a food cart. 2 slices of duck bacon.

I nuked the bacon. For some reason, one strip was over cooked and tasted like jerkey (yuck). The 2nd one was much better.

Lobster is on sale at Shop Rite so that's what we will have for Fathers' Day.

Braised short ribs tomorrow for Fathers Day

Mmm...homemade apple sauce. I love making it in the slow cookers. It make my place smell sooo good.

This was amazingly easy, and very tasty.

Ingredients

4 Granny Smith and 4 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 cup apple cider or juice
1 lemon, juiced
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash nutmeg

Directions

Add apples, apple cider, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon sticks and a dash of nutmeg to a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid and reduce to a simmer. Let cook for 15 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove cinnamon sticks and discard.

Mash with a potato masher, and stir in the 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon and dash of nutmeg. Transfer to a serving dish and serve warm.
