Tommy, are you saying at the Red Roof Inn Friday?

I don't think it is a typo as the did a similar thing with Jack Johnson concert earlier this Summer and it ended up a a mess part of which was caused by issues with the will call windows.TommyBahama wrote: ↑August 13, 2017 8:24 pmFound this , note the opening times to the actual venueBottleofRum wrote: ↑August 13, 2017 6:04 pm Jimmy Buffett's contract stipulates time for tailgating at some venues at the very least. An later article when the Bangor concert season was over talked about Jimmy Buffett being the most attended concert in Bangor ever and the only concert with zero arrests....despite my best efforts[smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]
But I agree, they are not getting in 19,900 people though the gates in 70 min esp with the new security procedures they now have in place.

So, I wonder what time they'll let us in the entrance to line up to get into the parking lots. I'm just not sure they can stem the tide until 1. Given the proximity to I-495 and the traffic backing up there I think the lots will almost have to open before 1. Something tells me there are going to be a lot of U-turns occuring on Rt. 140.
It was too much tequila . . . . or not quite enough.

This from a friend per Jimmy's contract lots will open at 1 , he didn't push for the 11:00 opening , due to reasoning may have been to excessive drinking ( lots of underage).
Re: Who's going to Great Woods, August 19, 2017?
Hello Fellow Parrotheads!
We are excited to have Jimmy Buffett back for what I believe is his 60th show at this venue!
I wanted to reach out to you and give you a couple of tips to hopefully make this experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone.
Parking Lots-
We will open at 1:00pm. This is a slight change from last year, however it is still MUCH earlier than any other show that visits this venue. We are trying to balance the experience of our guests, with some safety concerns as well as recognizing that a Jimmy Buffett show is just a little different than other shows. There will be local police on route 140 and at the entrance to the Xfinity Center to enforce this 1:00pm opening time. Please be respectful to our neighbors and local businesses
Restroom facilities-
While I applaud the creativity of the folks who created their own restrooms, we simply do not have the facilities to deal with the waste
after the fact. So, once again no portable toilets will be allowed.
In order to make your experience as pleasant as possible I will be increasing the number of porta-johns in the parking lots by 50% for this
show.
***We will also open our interior restrooms! As we have done the last 2 years, we will open the front gates and the Mens and Womens
restrooms just inside the gates. These are actual restrooms in permanent building with plumbing etc.
Simply walk to the front gates and you will see staff with one gate open for you to access these restrooms.
If you are familiar with the venue the porta johns in the parking lots will be in different locations than their usual spots. We will relocate
them in clusters so that they are close to a roadway and they can be serviced at least once during the day.
NO BAGS!
The Xfinity Center does not allow bags into the venue. The only exceptions are clear bags that meet the size requirements listed on our
website. Head to www.livenationvenue.com/xfinity-center. click on the A-Z tab for an alphabetical list of all questions that you need an
answer to!
Ticket Check-
We will be checking tickets as you enter the lots, please have your tickets available. We will have a list of names for Will Call so if you are picking up tickets we will be confirm that when you arrive.
Security-
Lastly, in order to provide the safest and most enjoyable environment for all of our guests there will be a standard security search of all
patrons at the gates.
Please do not wait until the last minute to try to enter the venue. When everyone comes at once there will be a back and you will be
delayed in getting into the venue.
*Expect delays at the search points if you try to enter any time after 7:30pm
Finz Up and enjoy the show!

Re: Who's going to Great Woods, August 19, 2017?
Crazy to think that of the 3 shows JB is playing this week, that Great Woods will have the latest lot opening time, as many of us associate JB and GW as having the earliest time. Jones Beach will open at 7-8am as we all know, and while Camden advertises 3 PM they're always open by noon. The mystique of JB at GW has gone down slightly in recent years, and this new 1pm time will catapult that even more so. This has been the "travel show" for many Parrotheads over the years, but it'll be a tougher sell when many can go elsewhere closer by for more tailgating time. It'll still be a great time as always though! Traffic getting in at 1pm will likely be heavy, so I hope it doesn't ruin the mood for some once they actually get to park and setup shop.

The planning for the tailgating, meeting up etc is taking place on Facebook in a group chat. If you're not in that chat and want to be and are on Facebook let me know and I'll add you into the discussion. It's been happening on Facebook for a while so there is a lot of words in that chat. The take away is we are meeting at 11am at Shaws.
It's sad that the GW planning is no longer on Buffett News. But it was a great run!

Re: Who's going to Great Woods, August 19, 2017?
The other day I posted in this forum the times for this Saturday's Buffett show at Greatwoods which are as follows:
Lots: 1:00pm
Gates: 7:00pm
Jimmy Buffett: 8:10pm
While some people are not happy about the 1pm parking lot opening I think perhaps the bigger issue this Saturday might be not opening the gates until 7pm. Greatwoods has a capacity of 19,900 and Jimmy usually comes close to selling out the venue, which means in order for everyone to be in the venue by the time Jimmy takes the stage, the people scanning tickets at the gate have to scan 285 tickets per minute. Now when one factors in that Buffett fans are kind of laid back and many will be partying for several hours the chances they will be moving very fast when the gates open are somewhat diminished. On top of that Greatwoods is not known for having the most competent of staff as reports form other shows this year indicate.
Apparently Greatwoods has taken the stance of "What Could Go Wrong?" with the 7pm gate time.
Hopefully all will go smoothly but I see the possibility of rough sailing for this show

I've seen Jimmy more times then I care to admit. I have been on the lawn dozens of times and I have been in the front row twice at two separate venues. I have heard pretty much every song of his that I want to hear live at least a dozen times if not 5 times that (stupid Chesseburger in Paradise). My point is I will be in no rush to wait in an hour long line (or more) with a bunch of b*tchy people. I used to walk in at 8pm from the tailgate way back in the day and I maybe missed half a song. This year I really going to take my time. No sense of urgency. Solves two problems, really. Adds an hour to a shortened tailgate and I don't have to feel like a trained sheep being herded through the gates. Win - win.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Re: Who's going to Great Woods, August 19, 2017?
The road is going to be a disaster way before 1:00pm if they stick to their guns. Not saying they won't but wow, this could get really ugly on the roads. It will be kind of like Pittsburgh when they hold the line on getting into the parking lots. Except Great Woods is right off of a major interstate. You know the police can't be too comfortable with traffic lining up on the off-ramp from 495. I know I'm not! And if it's a crush of cars when they do open and they decide to look at tickets you're looking at a really long time to get parked.
I will say it's nice to know that "real" bathrooms are available if needed. That's always a plus.
