Alpine Reopening
Alpine just announced that they are reopening after having no shows last summer.
I guess it is never too early to start an Alpine thread.

Their Facebook page is also trying to sell season tickets with zero concerts announced.

Re: Alpine Reopening
They do that every year.
Fins crossed for Buffett, but not getting hopes up.
He did mention that he will be back to Wrigley this summer...

Re: Alpine Reopening
Really? That’s disappointing. The tickets were overpriced and hard to get, the seating layout is awful, the crowd sucks, traffic was a nightmare even by Chicago standards, and the bar scene comes nowhere close to making up for no tailgating.tropicalmindset wrote: ↑December 2, 2017 9:27 amHe did mention that he will be back to Wrigley this summer...
I’ll gladly go to Alpine instead, or make it a road trip to someplace else.

Re: Alpine Reopening
When did Jimmy say he is going back to Wrigley? That is really disappointing. If history is any indication, a Wrigley show will mean no Alpine which is horrible.
Re: Alpine Reopening
During the pre-show for the 2016 Wrigley Show Jimmy said "We're coming back next year" meaning coming back to Wrigley

Re: Alpine Reopening
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but trust me, I would so much rather go to Alpine than Wrigley.
And this is coming from a Cubs fan who loves going to Wrigley Field.
While the one show was a fun expierience, I definetly want the tailgating expierience of Alpine again.

Re: Alpine Reopening
It will depend on whether Alpine Valley is still willing to meet Jimmy's performance price in order for him to return there. Wrigley is clearly willing to pay Jimmy so we will have to wait and seetropicalmindset wrote: ↑December 4, 2017 11:00 am Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but trust me, I would so much rather go to Alpine than Wrigley.

Only time will tell.
Still far too early to get any sort of idea as Wrigley only has two concerts announced for next year anyways, the Foo Fighters on Sun July 29th and Mon July 30th

Re: Alpine Reopening
Wow didn't think people would beat me to it!
If ZBB is August 11-12 just leaves the question on if we get the usual time frame for Buffett as 3rd or 4th Saturday in August.

Are people still thinking Jimmy is going back to Wrigley? History is not kind to Alpine if that's the case.

Re: Alpine Reopening
Still only have one concert announced for Wrigley. Buffett in Chicago is usually announced early to mid Feb. This time last year there were a lot more concerts announced for Wrigley. With ZBB playing Alpine, and FGL playing at Summerfest, I think we have a light concert season at Wrigley, if any besides the Foo Fighters.

Two more shows.
Dead and Company 6/22-23
That's almost Alpine's show average for the last few years.

Wrigley is up to seven shows.
Journey / Def Leppard 7/14
( I'll be shocked if they can fill the park)
Foo Fighters 7/29-7/30
Pearl Jam 8/18 & 8/20
Billy Joel 9/7
Fall Out Boy / Machine Gun Kelly / Rise Against 9/8

Re: Alpine Reopening
Seeing Journey and Def Leppord play Wrigley on July 14th actually made me kinda relieved, as that is the weekend Buffett played Wrigley last year.
Based on his normal touring schedule, it is really starting to look like we will get Alpine this year.
