Re: 2018 NFL Thread
I saw about the last minute of regulation time and the overtime period of the Giants game today. They did everything they could to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They were lucky the Bears couldn't hold on to the ball in overtime.

Re: 2018 NFL Thread
After the Lions took their expected defeat at the hands of the Rams, they switched to this game in time to see the Bears tie it. Thank you to the Giants for ultimately getting the W so that the Lions draft spot may potentially improve (not that they necessarily know what to do with it)

The Jests and the Giants both won yesterday. I wonder how often that's happened in the last few years?

Side note. I still love the history of the Broncos, and have been a fan since 1976. I just no longer care for the NFL as a whole.

The Jests fired their coach. Can't say I'm surprised, they went 10-6 his first year as coach then won a total of 14 games the next 3 years.

Texans play the Colts. Aren't the Colts the team that beat the Texans so bad recently. Yup. I think they were.
Hope the next game goes better for the Texans.

Re: 2018 NFL Thread
There are 32 teams in the NFL, 12 of them make the playoffs. Of the 20 teams on the outside looking in, 6 have already fired their coaches.

Re: 2018 NFL Thread
If Miami’s Adam Gase loses his job with a 7-9 record, the coaches at the four other 7-9 teams might be (should be?) a little worried and the seven other not-yet-fired coaches with even worse records must already be updating their resumes!

Re: 2018 NFL Thread
I still wonder why the coach gets the heave-ho when a team has a bad season. After all, he's not the guy on the field who couldn't find the open receiver, or fumbled the ball, or dropped the pass that was right in his hands, or missed the blocking assignment that let the defense sack the QB, or blew the pass coverage and gave up the winning TD, or missed the crucial field goal. He's just the poor scapegoat who gets shown the door because someone else effed up and didn't perform.

Re: 2018 NFL Thread
Must say this weekends Conference Championship Weekend looks very enticing.
Final 4 of Old school Brees & Brady squaring off against New school Goff & Mahomes.
Seems though it would be easy to form alliances on which teams/players you'd like to see in Super Bowl LIII
Alot of firepower on the fields, yet I'm thinking defensive plays are whats gonna be huge in deciding these games.
However these games shakedown I don't think you can go wrong with whatever Super Bowl matchup we get!
Grab your favorite beverage & Enjoy the Games!!

Hoping for Saints / Chiefs. Rams / Chiefs would of been interesting if the Rams were still in St Louis. I just don't want to see the Patriots.Dr.Corona wrote: ↑January 18, 2019 9:45 am Must say this weekends Conference Championship Weekend looks very enticing.

Re: 2018 NFL Thread
I saved the Sports Illustrated NFL preview issue from back in August and I just took a look at it. They picked the Falcons to beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl. Neither of those teams made the playoffs.

Rooting for the Saints. We happened to be in NOLA the last time they won, the city was wild, on top of the usual Mardi Gras festivities.

Re: 2018 NFL Thread
Personally I'd like to see 41 year old Brady duel 40 year old Brees.
I know the whole Patriot thing in Super Bowls is old.........but I just think the story line of 2 40+ year-old QB's matching up in the Super Bowl would be a cool subplot & would not ever be duplicated.
But as I mentioned regardless of who gets there unless you're a dedicated fan of 1 of the teams I don't think you can go wrong whoever gets there.

Big time. Yes , people will say other penealties were missed. But , this was so obvious , i could of thrown the flag from my living room. I wonder what the league office thought , when they saw no flag thrown. It had to be an oh f#@k moment , knowing the reprecustions of what will come next.
