This conga line seems like the perfect one to join. I haven't have the privilege of meeting you in person but I love what I have gotten to know through BN and now FB. Take care; be strong; but also be weak and let us help where we can. Positive attitudes and healthy food choices are key for you now. Get a good nutritionist who will help you eat what you should so your body has all the opportunities to fight and heal between treatments. Much love and phin power headed to you.

Not much I can add here except to say that science and medicine can work wonders. And if they fail, there's always the guy who gave us the stars to steer by. With those on your side, you can make one helluva fight out of this.

UPDATE: Garry started chemo today and will be on a cycle every 3 weeks for 4 cycles. He wants to share the good, the bad, and the ugly...
"It is indeed Stage 4 small cell lung cancer. It has spread to my pelvic bone and chest. Oncologist informed me the median survival rate for my type of cancer is 11 months. Some a bit less, some a bit more. They're hoping (as am I) that since I am relatively healthy, it may be a bit longer, but in any case, the odds of my being here in 2 years are less than 1%. I'm digesting all as best I can, and will still fight this as best I can.
I am reading your messages, and I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support and your prayers."

Re: The beginning of the end for yours truly
An Irish Prayer for Healing
May the blessing of light be upon you,
Light on the outside, Light on the inside.
With God's sunlight shining on you,
May your heart glow with warmth,
Like a turf fire that welcomes friends and strangers alike.
May the light of the Lord shine from your eyes,
Like a candle in the window,
Welcoming the weary traveler.
May the blessing of God's soft rain be on you,
Falling gently on your head, refreshing your soul
With the sweetness of little flowers newly blooming.
May the strength of the winds of Heaven bless you,
Carrying the rain to wash your spirit clean
Sparkling after in the sunlight.
May the blessing of God's Earth be on you.
May you understand the strength and power of God.
In a thunderstorm in winter, And the quiet beauty of creation,
In the calm of a summer sunset, And may you come to realize,
that, insignificant as you may seem in this great universe,
You are an important part of God's plan,
and an important part of your family and friends lives,
We are your clan,
May He watch over you and keep you safe from harm.
May He heal your injuries and bring peace to those that care for you and love you.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Amen.
I'm just tryin to get by, being quiet and shy, in a world full of pushin and shove

Thinking of you often, Garry. As Alphabits said, I've been on this cruise, too. Hope you are as successful and lucky as I've been.
