It was May 15, 2003 when I made my very first post on BN. Sadly, today will be my last. Like all of you, I've met so many cool pholks on BN throughout the past twenty years. I've even had the pleasure of meeting some of you in person. To Ken (Dr Corona)... I wish you, your partner and your daughter all the best. To all BN'ers... thanks for the laughs and stories. To Jimmy... thanks for your gift of music and countless memories attending your shows. Sail on...

I know...she is crying.
Going to be a hard day for the DJs.

RM has played Lovely Cruise twice since I have been listening. That one tears me up.

I have RM as one of the presets on my car radio but I rarely listen to it. I think I'll be listening today.

The comfort I find that Conlulu, WinoIknow, Shrimper Don, Ralph, Alan, Ed, and so many others were there to greet him makes this a bit more bearable.

I don't even know where to begin other than it started in February at a Delta Sigma Pi Jimmy Buffett party. I had no idea who Buffett was and I should have known better than to accept the invitation by a guy named Dave who subsequently left me there to go off with some other girl. I walked back to my dorm, got up the next morning, and bought the Changes in Latitude cassette. The music filled a void left by my mother's death from cancer, my own lack of purpose and self worth, and began a journey which I never would imagine but could not live with out.

Sail On, Bubba. Thank you for all your music has done for me. This forum, these friends, my sense of purpose, and the legacy that is part of my keets' foundations.
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Enjoy your OPH, Jimmy.

But there’s one particular harbor
So far yet so near
Where I see the days as they fade away
And finally disappear... :(

I have a husband because of his music.

I just can't. 💔💔💔
I think they posted at 11:15 my time last night. I read it at 11:30. I immediately logged on and came to the MSC wondering if it was true. My first thought was “oh dear how will Penny take this news”. I haven’t been here in ages, but this place is like a warm blanket and you and a few others are the “family”. (((❤️)))

It’s nice to see a lot of folks who have been missing from BN.

The reason they are back saddens our hearts but still…… please stick around. BN will be here.

and it speaks to the role buffettnews has played in our lives that even though it has been years since many of us were here, this is where we had to return when we learned the sad news.

SO many memories! From the tailgates to the shows, everything before, during & after. ALL of the wonderful phriends I have met because of Jimmy & this site. When people would ask why I travel so far to see Jimmy, my answer would be 1) It's Jimmy and 2) To see all of the people I've met & now call friends.
Hugs to each & every one of you!

My top memory would have to be front row at Virginia Beach show Aug 3 2019. That was show 47.
My final show, number 56, was Aug 6 2022 & at my hometown venue, Nissan aka Jiffy Lube.
Spending the weekend with my friend on her sailboat in NC. Very fitting place to mourn & remember. RM will not be turned off.

It WAS a lovely cruise.

The band in the sky just took a tropical tack.

Sail On to your OPH Jimmy.

"He always found his way by Orion lucky star
He'd tell them of their joys, tell them of their woes
They loved to see him come and they'd hate to see him go"

"The night was filled with magic, they bid the sea goodbye
Swam into the heavens and they stayed up in the sky
And all the island people when they wish upon a star
See the dolphin and the Jolly Mon who tell them where they are"

We are diminished. Condolences and hugs to all that need them.
Always be yourself

Then always be Batman
