. . I’m ready Tiki . . I’m ready to go see Jimmy
Hello friends.
I am sad to report that BG (BalconyGirls) isn’t long for this world.
She turned 77 on October 28th. We had a great hour and a half long conversation on the phone two days prior. While she had been dealing with physical pain and mobility issues for a couple years now, she certainly still had her wits about her.
She moved to Everett, Washington in 2017, near her son Jason and his wife Cherice. Her daughter Shelby came up from California on October 29th to visit a few days.
On Wednesday October 30th, she fell and hurt her leg. Shelby returned home on the 1st, and on Sunday the 3rd, Jason and Cherice got her to go to the hospital, where they discovered she had broken her femur, and performed surgery using pins to secure the bone. Unfortunately, a chest X-ray also revealed lung cancer. Due to her frail condition, they determined she is not healthy enough to withstand any treatments, so they did not do additional testing to put a label on what stage.
On Sunday morning, her son texted “Mom wants to talk to you. She is sedated for her pain and having hopeless feelings but wanted to say hi to you. When is a good time to call?” She wanted me to hear from her what had been going on since we last spoke, and essentially tell me thanks for the memories, and good bye. She said it would be the last time I’d talk to her, and “I’m ready Tiki . . I’m ready to go see Jimmy . . “
Since then I’ve talked to Boop a couple times, and Jason and Cherice. I wanted to fly out to hug her goodbye, but after speaking to a nurse this morning, that is far fetched. She’s not eating or drinking water or getting enough oxygen, and if she continues that way, she’ll maybe be capable of awake cognitive conversation for 4-7 days.
Boop still needs time to talk to some sisters and nieces, so I can’t post on facebook. But if any of you can send prayers for a peaceful transition, please do. Much love.
UPDATE: I firmly believe your prayers and positive vibes brought Cindi the peace of mind she needed, and she passed away around 5 o’clock somewhere, Pacific Time. They definitely brought me comfort, and I appreciate it.

I'm so glad I texted her out of the clear blue a few months ago. She and I had a great conversation.
JoAnn, I'm sorry you've had such a rough week - wish I could hug you in person.
Peaceful prayers, Cindi.. you are so loved.

Oh that makes me so sad! BG is one in million and one of best Buffett memories I have! Hopefully she'll go quietly and have no pain.

Jumping in line from Michigan for smooth sailing and a wonderful reunion with BN pholks who sailed before her.
JoAnn, I am incredibly sorry for all of the goodbyes and heartbreak you are experiencing. I guess one of the hardest parts of being an amazing person like you are is being who so many need to speak or be with as they cross the veil.
Much love to BG and to all of us who love her. She is definitely one of my OG BN pholk who I adored and fan girled.

Oh no! This makes me sad to hear. I treasure my memories of BG dearly…she and my dad were born on the same day; BG one year later than my dad.
Thank you for sharing JoAnn…big hugs to you as I know you have had a rough time this week
and please pass along my love to BG and family.

I met both Balcony Girls in Erie before a Peter Mayer show. They were sweet! May her time left go easy for her.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Prayers for peace and comfort.
Bless you, Tiki, for being able to give love and healing words to BG and her family and friends.
What fun and great memories of special times. Fantastic lady.

This breaks my heart. I loved me some BG. I can hear her laughing right now.
It was a hoot to hear a shout out during a show.

Re: . . I’m ready Tiki . . I’m ready to go see Jimmy
Well, this majorly sucks.
BG was always so kind to me and was one of the people (along with Conolulu) who made the newbie experience on BN much easier.
I met her in person for the first time at the Topless Phlocking in 2006. She greeted me like I was the most important person there.
Somewhere I have a photo of BG, me, and Boop from that party. Good times, good memories.

Thank you so much for the sad update, Tiki. Much love and wishes for a peaceful passing going out to BG. Big hugs to you for the tough time you’re enduring with Rocco’s passing and BG’s imminent passing.
