Welcome aboard VB...used to live in Hampton and came to the Beach anytime I had any extra time. Is Ocean Eddies still on the pier?

YES, Ocean Eddies is still on the pier, good as ever. However the pier lost about 50 feet from the end durring issabelle. Also the lynnhaven fishing pier took a big hit and lost a large chunk and I believe Harrisons fishing pier in ocean view was totally destroyed.

Why? Here's my opinion....you've noticed that ever since he's drastically reduced his touring schedule, we've been dropped. Maybe it has something to do with only wanting to play venues where the parrotheads can tailgate and have fun (not allowed so much in Va. Beach). Maybe Nissan is more centrally located than Va. Beach. Maybe since the management at the Amp has changed since he was last here, they aren't "courting" him. But once again, right before the summer tour is announced there are rumors that maybe VB will be on the list again. I gave up hoping for this a couple of years ago. Only time will tell.

BTW......are you a member of the PHClub of Tidewater?

It's too damn cold up there in Virginia Beach and the ocean temp rarely gets into the 80's......that's why.
Sunset Beach is my Margaritaville. Where there is endless beach, no time, and sunshine that seems to last forever. I know that Someday I Will.....Someday.

Question for you. When I was in the Navy (many moons ago) we used to go to a little place in Virginia Beach for Chile and beer. The BEST chile ever. The place was called Grumpys. Ever here of it? I was back in VB in 95 for a 20th year reunion and couldn't find it so I guess it closed.

Not sure of the name of the street. I seem to remember it being just a block or two off the main drag along the beach at the south end.

If it is still there go try the chile. If it is as good as I remember you won't be disapointed. :D

No, it's probably not there any more. That whole area has changed so much in the past couple of years. Hotels and condo's have taken over!

Yeah I saw that on my last visit. Used to be you could see the beach from the road. :( Damn place has gone to hell if you ask me, they messed up a great beach. Body surfing there was always great.

We still have the north end...the residential area. If I want waves and dolphins we'll go there. We also still have the Bay area...that's where I live and go to the beach. Usually nothing but locals there. And let's not forget Sandbridge. Let the strip make the money to keep our taxes low....the locals know the BEST beaches! Oh yeah....driving distance to the OBX, definitely a plus!
