IM 100% with you on that one

however if you listen to it a few times in a row you can get into it and really enjoy it.

I guess not one of the best, but I listen to it a couple of times a month, I like the story concept at times when I'm driving!!

I thinks it's much better if you've read the book... 8)
(The same goes for the "Off To See The Lizard" / "Tales From Margaritaville" pairing, as well)

I would have to agree. Don't Stop the Carnival is a great book. The CD isn't bad if you listen to it the whole way through.

Well it's kind of meant ot be listened to all the way through. Some songs you can listen to solo, but most of them make much more sense and are much more enjoyable if you listen all the way through :P

I think it's solid beginning to end. There's a few tunes in the middle that don't really catch my attention. It starts out brilliantly. Island Fever is incredible as is Public Relations and Sheila Says. The Hippolyte section is a little downer but listenable. The finale is great. I love Time to Go Home. I've read the book, so that may be what makes it more intriguing in my eyes. I hadn't read the book when I bought the disc, so I had no idea what he was singing about, and then "poof" it all became clear and more enjoyable.

I like it. I wasn't sure about it at first. If you are listening to this from a pure standpoint of Jimmy's normal albums it is not the same and you may find you only like one or two. If you listen to it as it is written and meant to be, a play, it is very well done. There are some slower points and songs that aren't as good but overall it is great.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

actually I have loved all the vibrant kinda beats and music from that whole soundtrack-album since I first bought it. then just last years I finally read the book and understood half of what was going on in the plotlines.
