Yea Mal, I've been wondering more and more about that. Yesterday the Physicians Assistant (that I really like) from Dr. Houses office called me. She rcvd my blood tests back and was concerned about my anemia, my count is down to 9 again and my hemocrite is 32....not good. She convinced me to take the iron pills again (even though they tear up my gut). I forgot to ask her if the blood tests they gave me included the four tests you recommended. I think I will give her a call back.buffettbride wrote:I know I'm a gluten nazi, but I can't help but wonder when you feel like buttski and see all the gluten you eat. Got a package from my sister in law today. A belated Christmas present.
There must be 7 different boxes of chocolates, 4 boxes of cookies, peanut brittle, biscotti, summer sausage, cheeses, truffles, you name it. Not a thing in there that I can touch. I told Tom it must be some sort of torture test.

She took the boxes out in the driveway and ran them over. Film it and upload!
I find myself throwing out candy and other junk food when the wife's not around.
Funny thing she never even notices.

Vitamins with any kind of iron make me barf. I take little kids Gummy Vites every day and those rock. Vitamins can also sometimes contain wheat.

I've been away for 6 months and even had to get a new user name when my old one wouldn't work any more.
I was Longboardn' ASEL&S, and am the one that was the bad influence on your daughter when I discovered gluten free beer!
Are you saying that the whole family has now reduced their gluten intake, and feels better overall as a result?
Is it just the carb reduction, or are you making up for them with other grains?

Only Hubby and my daughter restrict gluten and we don't really restrict any other grains at home. For general purpose dieting for me, I do tend to avoid carbs, but I find that an uberhighfiber breakfast of oatmeal works well for me. I'm a hungry girl and oatmeal keeps my tummy happy. At home we do all kinds of rice, risotto, etc. Corn, pasta, and potatoes are done in moderation. Our primary home carb is rice because it isn't very expensive and we can buy a lot of it and cook a lot of it at once in our rice cooker. I would DIE without our rice cooker.

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
So, maybe to answer your question, hubby feels better with restricted grains and carbs (especially gluten). I don't feel better without them, but without them I lose weight quickly. I'm trying to figure out how to not be a cranky b*tch and not over do my carbs. When I have that figured out, I'll let you now.buffettbride wrote:Oh hey!!!OMiTT wrote:Hey BB,buffettbride wrote:

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
I'm guessing she doesn't know about the diet. They live in another state and I haven't seen her in several months. I'm sending the goodies to work with my hubby to put by the coffee pot. They will disappear quickly. (Some of the stuff looks REALLY good) But I boxed it all back up. It literally came in a box 3 feet by 3 feet. I've never seen a box of goodies that big.Salukulady wrote:Does this sister-in-law know of your plight? DAY 30!!!
It's just seems so strange.
It's just seems so strange.
Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.
I accept the new found man, and I set the twilight reeling.
