Jimmy does'nt play anywhere near where I live so I have to buy tickets using brokers.Seeing my drive time is about 4 hours we stay overnight.I'm a huge fan ,have been for 20 years ,so I pay through the nose for tics and am glad to do so! I make it my yearly escape and its worth every penny.I don't want to miss any more concerts, who knows how long this circus we love so much will last

Also, like or not front row Buffett tickets are worth way more than the $80-$100 face value of the tickets. If people are willing to pay big bucks for those tickets someone is going to sell them for those prices.
I wouldn't agree that ticket prices are underpriced and when it is said the show sold 35,000 seats in 10 minutes I can guarantee you that perhaps there is still 1/3 of those seats available to the public at a slightly inflated price. Ticket agencies buy blocks of them to sell later on after the public had it's chance at the crumbs.

The value of a ticket is whatever a willing buyer will pay for it. If tickets are not underpriced how come every listing on ebay or a broker is for an amount above face value? The reason is people will pay the higher price.
Also, while I agree brokers & agencies eat up a chunk of the tickets, I highly doubt it would be as high as 1/3. Are we to believe that over 11,500 Alpine tickets go directly to the brokers?

i agree that it is the promoters who say what the prices are. i worked for clear channel and clear channel entertainment promotes pretty much every big concert in the states. it sucks because i learned that before the concert goes on sale, the clear channel stations in the area get to have first dibs at the tickets. i remember when i was interviewing with them somone came up and asked the manager asked if they would like any aerosmith tickets. i am thinking wow this is cool, because i am a big aerosmith fan and guess how many tickets she said she wanted? 10,000. i thought what the heck are you going to do with 10,000 tickets. they give them to there highest rolling clients as far as radio advertising goes and then the last 10 they usually give away on the air. this really sucks for the real fans who pay there hard earned money to see a good rock show. first in line or online and they get really bad seats right when the tickets go on sale. i myself dont have the cash to go to several shows this year with the wedding and everything. i got two tickets for buffett in columbus and i paid 78 dollars each for two tickets plus ticketmaster extra fees, and they arent the greatest seats either. after that i didnt have the money for any more shows this year, buffett or any other artist.
the two concerts that i am dying to see this summer are buffett obviously and the reunion of van halen with sammy hagar. and as it looks now van halen will have to wait which really sucks. i do wish that the ticket prices could be lower.

I had front row seats a couple of years ago. One of our vendors bought four front row center and four front row over on the left. He gave us the ones on the left. We great time, but he paid about $600 each for the ones in the center and about $400 each for ours. Not surprisingly, he's no longer in business. Too bad, he's a family friend of Jim and Peter Mayer and was going to get us backstage one year. Oh, well.
