Currently working on it... I did have a 2003 Mazda Protege until this past Tuesday when it failed to stop in the snow/ice and got eaten by the back bumper of a Yukon.
Sooooooo, anyone who has a hatchback type of vehicle with excellent cargo space and great gas mileage, give me your salespitch. I just started looking at vehicles today, starting with the Toyota Matrix.

I drove a Suburu Forester.. the Station Wagon type.. I had it a weekend
and loved it.. 4 hours out and back and I figured about 29 MPg.. AWD
my big frame fit in it (six'one and over 300 LBS) good sound and in 90 degree summer weather
I had to turn down the air as it got cold..

Thanks! I've put the Forester on "the list!"
It was my intention to run the Protege into the ground, until the wheels fell off, etc... Didn't think Mother Nature would run it into another vehicle.

I had a 1990 Accord. I loooooved that car...until it got in a fight with a big truck on a freeway offramp..and lost. But the car did what it was supposed to do and saved my life. I still think that's the best model Accord ever came out with.
Currently I have an '03 Toyota 4Runner, Finnegan. It actually gets pretty decent gas mileage for being a V8 and I put it through the wringer in AZ and it came through like a champ! I'm hoping someday to find a silver Teardrop Trailer to match it. If Finnegan is the shark I guess the trailer would be the remora.
2004 Chevy Trailblazer (to pull my boat trailer) and a 2005 Chevy Impala......nothing fancy, but both are dependable and get us where we need to go.
I also have a bright red Corvette ZR1, but have to admit it is a "Hot Wheels" model given to me by my wife until I can swing the real deal......I think it's called "positive imaging".
On most days I say: "Wrinkles only go where the smiles have been...."
Sometimes I can only say: "There is no dumbass vaccine......"
If something or someone gets you down, just remember: "In a hundred years it all won’t matter.........."
2008 Honda Accord, I HAD an Audi station wagon but my dirt road killed it I loved that car, it was paid for and everything! (Picture is from when she was new, she's covered in salt and snow now)
But I've had Accords before and they can handle it. Good mileage and good in the snow. I only hope I get as much mileage out of it as Jack!

Here is Wicked Wanda. my '99 New Beetle. I rescued her at an auction almost a year ago after a life of neglect. Wanda takes me to work and we run errands together. She's the only car I've ever talked to on a regular basis.
